About This Pub

Ah, The Seven Oaks – what a gem of a pub tucked away in the buzz of Manchester's Chinatown. From the moment you step in, you get that warm, welcoming feel of a traditional British spot that's been around since 1824, and it's clear why folks keep coming back. The deals on drinks are an absolute highlight; I mean, grabbing two for £5.50 is just brilliant for keeping things affordable, and they've got a cracking range of beers and ales to suit any taste. It's especially ace for sports fans, with seven screens showing everything from Premier League matches to F1 races, and the staff are dead chuffed to chat about it all, making you feel right at home. Plus, those monthly quiz nights add a fun twist for a laugh with friends. On the flip side, though, the bar service isn't quite what you'd expect – the staff aren't always stationed at the bar, which can make ordering feel a tad awkward at times. And let's not forget those stairs down to the toilets; they might not bother everyone, but they could be a bit of a hassle if you're not up for navigating them after a pint or two. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, offering great value and a community spirit, but it's worth knowing the little quirks to make the most of your visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic value for money with cracking deals like two for £5.50 on drinks, making it easy on the wallet for a good night out
  • Friendly and welcoming bar staff who are always up for a chat and know their stuff, especially when it comes to sports
  • A brilliant spot for watching the big games with seven screens showing a wide range of sports, from Premier League footy to F1 and UFC
  • A great selection of drinks, including cask ales, craft beers, and some non-alcoholic options, plus fun events like monthly quiz nights to keep things lively
  • It's a proper traditional pub with a community feel, right in the heart of Manchester's Chinatown, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates
Cons
  • The bar service can feel a bit unusual, as the staff don't always stand at the bar, which might throw you off if you're expecting the classic setup
  • Those stairs to the toilets could be a right nuisance, especially if you've had a few and aren't feeling steady on your feet
  • It's tucked away in a spot that you might easily overlook, so it doesn't always grab your attention amidst the hustle of Manchester city centre

Quite bizarre. Overrun with Spurs fans in Manchester pub celebrating a win in Spain. Even Chas n Dave were there (in spirit)

£3 for a vodka and lemonade? Unheard of, amazing prices, very friendly bar staff, bit weird that they don’t stand at the bar but that’s fine with me, I can’t imagine walking down the toilet stairs if I was steamin

Bargain, decent ales in the city centre. Was nice to go back after not being there for a while.

Beer, service and atmosphere was fabulous. Been in twice for the F1 and the bar staff are welcoming and accommodating as well as loving F1 themselves. Absolutely my bar of choice to watch future races! Beer choice is really nice, Shindigger on regularly, some usual lagers / Guiness and a couple of guests. Well worth a visit.

I have never even noticed this pub before out of all the hundreds of times of been to Manchester. I just got back from a long coach journey and seen this in the corner of my eye. I thought why not give it a bash? It is a very nice pub with seating upstairs and downstairs. It has. A jukebox and good ales. Nice.
