About This Pub
Ah, The Bank – it's one of those pubs that really captures the essence of Manchester's vibrant scene, tucked away in a stunning old building with roots going back over two centuries. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's a gem for anyone after a solid meal and a chat; the food stands out with its hearty British classics, like those mouth-watering pies and fresh salads that have left more than a few people chuffed. The staff are an absolute treat, always on hand with a smile and quick to sort out any needs, whether it's dietary advice or just keeping your glass topped up. It's got that warm, inviting vibe that's perfect for gathering with friends or even popping in solo for a quiet drink. But let's be straight, it's not flawless – you might run into a wait for your food, or notice the odd dish not quite hitting the mark on a busier day, which can put a small dampener on things. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for pub goers looking for a mix of history, good value, and that genuine northern hospitality; I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, just keep expectations realistic for a classic city pub experience.

Cons
-
Service can sometimes be a bit slow, like when one person's food arrives much later than others, which might disrupt the flow of your outing.
-
Food quality isn't always consistent; for instance, something like garlic bread might come out a tad bland on a return visit.
-
It can get quite busy, especially in the heart of the city, so you might find yourself waiting a touch longer than you'd hope for a table or service.

This is a nice pub in the northern quarter that my children and I decided to have lunch in recently.
The bar staff are great and the choice on tap is good.
If I had one criticism, it was that my food came out much later than my children's.
The staff were very apologetic and had for warned me that there was a delay, just not quite as long as it ended up being.
It's a very grand looking place and the food was really nice.
Food was great. Introverts dream. Walk in take your seat and order via QR code (ordering at the bar is also an option). Great service from Anna and Mary. Lovely and friendly ladies
Food was very good. Anna and Mary were great helping with selections with consideration for my allergies. Great to talk to and very attentive even after we had our food to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend The Bank and a venue for food and drinks. Even the music selection was to our liking.
We really enjoyed our food here. The calamari was absolutely delicious and my daughter said her salad was one of the best she has had. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend. Came back still good but this time the garlic bread was a bit tasteless and the calamari a little bit over done still enjoyed the calamari though and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing
Fantastic pub in the city center of Manchester. Classic british cuisine and awarded pie with affordable price. Perfect for friend gatherings and some exploration for food. All drinks have great flavor and desserts were great. The place has long history and welcoming staff.
