About This Pub
Ah, The Circus Tavern – what a lovely spot it is in the heart of Manchester. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's got this wonderfully intimate feel that really draws you in, perfect for sinking into a good conversation over a pint. The beers are spot on, with a great range of real ales that hit the mark every time, and you're getting solid value for your money too. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, with handy table service that adds a nice touch without any fuss. It's got bags of character, what with the historical decor and that genuine pub warmth that makes you want to linger. On the flip side, though, it's such a small space that it can get jam-packed, especially on busier days, so you might end up standing or waiting for a table. And if you're a fan of paying with cash, you'll have to adapt since it's card only. All in all, it's a cracking choice for a proper pub experience – just pop in when it's not too heaving, and you'll have a whale of a time!
Pros and Cons

-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers, especially the real ales, and the prices are spot on for a good value pint.
-

-
It's packed with character, from the intriguing decor with nods to Manchester's history to that warm, traditional pub vibe.
Cons
-
The place is tiny, so it can get really crowded, which might make it tricky to find a seat or space during peak times.
-
One downside is the payment system; it's card only, which isn't ideal if you're someone who prefers to pay with cash.

Simply a must visit. Great value pint of deliciously tasty bitter. Order at the smallest bar in Europe and the pint is brought to you with the card machine. I would definitely have preferred to have the cash on hand to have paid physically. The decor is very intriguing with Man U tributes accompanied by a variety of sporting greats. A very friendly feel to the whole venue.
A very small & cosy pub. Great atmosphere, lovely selection of beer & great conversation. Highly recommend a visit!
Incredible little boozer. It genuinely is tiny. We visted on a busy Saturday afternoon and the staff were doing a great job of not only serving people but managing where people could actually sit or stand. The two real ales they've got on tap were both on fantastic form, and we only paid £7 for 2 pints which is just incredible in 2025. Great united memorabilia on the walls too
Stopped in for a pint and had a lovely time! We got lucky, it’s usually quite crowded but we came at the right time and got a table. Table service was great and quick. Lot of history at the pub. People were fantastic. Really added to the Manchester experience.
This fabulous place has the smallest bar and biggest welcome anywhere.
For those that are old enough, a traditional pub with a landlord 3 times bigger than his actual bar.
Great atmosphere, great fun enjoyed by folk from across the world.
Great beer, good prices Great punters all things that make a stranger welcome.
