About This Pub
Ah, The Secret SIP – it's one of those hidden gems that really hits the mark for a proper pub experience. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the place has this warm, inviting atmosphere that's just perfect for unwinding after a long day; you can sink into the vibe with a good beer in hand and maybe even challenge your pals to a board game. The beers are a highlight, with their own brews adding a nice local touch, and the menu keeps things simple yet satisfying with affordable bites that go down a treat. The staff are genuinely friendly, always up for a chat, which makes the whole visit feel more like popping round to a mate's house than just another night out. On the flip side, though, those beer prices might sting a bit if you're planning to stay for more than a couple, and the food options don't venture far beyond the classics, so if you're after something more adventurous, you might be out of luck. Plus, with the pub shut on Mondays and varying hours, it's best to plan ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice for pub goers seeking a relaxed spot with heart, but keep those little niggles in mind for a balanced outing.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's a quirky little spot that's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers, including their own brews, which are always a treat and reasonably priced overall.
-
The menu's a winner with tasty options like burgers and hot dogs that won't break the bank, plus some nibbles to keep things light.
-
Friendly staff who are chatty and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a fun vibe with board games on offer, ideal for a relaxed evening or even a quiet pint on your own.
Cons
-
Beers can feel a tad pricey at around £5 for a two-thirds pint, which might add up if you're settling in for the night.
-
The food selection is a bit limited, mostly sticking to burgers and hot dogs, so it might not suit everyone looking for more variety.
-
They're closed on Mondays, which is a shame if you're after a mid-week wind-down.
-
Opening hours vary a bit between locations, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid any disappointment.

The Courtyard at the secret sip is nice gor a few beers. Most beers cost about £5 for ⅔pint.
Quite a popular venue with a reasonable looking menu that isn't too expensive. Burgers and hot dogs seems to be the choice. Not eaten here.
Also have selection of nibbles. Also a selection of board games.
Superb little place right in the heart if Royton. Great atmosphere and beers. Good entertainment.
Just had Yorkshire Pudding Wrap with roasties here! Absolutely amazing. Polished it all off even though a very generous amount. Well cooked, fresh and tasty. Good atmosphere and a really quirky little place with a good selection of beer and ale. Really reasonably priced too. We’ll be returning!
Lovely little bar in Royton. The fire is always on, the staff are friendly and chatty and they have different food vendors on every week serving a variety of street food. Great place to meet friends or for a quiet pint on your own. These guys brew their own beers as well and have a great selection 👍
First time visiting and enjoyed a bank holiday treat with food from Northern Bowl. Looking forward to visiting again
