About This Pub
Ah, Munich Cricket Club – what a gem for anyone craving that Oktoberfest spirit right in the heart of London. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place nails the authentic Bavarian feel with its cosy bierkeller setup, complete with twinkling lights and traditional decor that instantly lifts your spirits. The food's a real highlight; folks rave about the pork dishes and classic German fare, which are hearty, tasty, and perfect for soaking up all those beers. And speaking of beers, they've got a fantastic range of German brews served in big steins, paired with live Oompah bands that turn any visit into a proper party – it's especially brilliant for group outings or a weekend brunch. On the flip side, though, it does get mobbed at times, so you might find yourself waiting for service when it's heaving, and the moderate prices can sneak up on you if you're not careful. Overall, it's a solid choice for a fun night out, but I'd say it's best for when you're up for a bit of a crowd and want that energetic, sing-along vibe – just plan ahead and you'll have a whale of a time!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The authentic Bavarian atmosphere is spot on – it really feels like you've stepped into an Oktoberfest tent, with all the fun decor and vibes that get everyone in the mood for a good time.
-
The food is brilliant; their pork knuckle and shoulder are absolute winners, packed with flavour and perfect for sharing with mates.
-
They've got a cracking selection of German beers, served in proper steins, which makes every pint feel like a proper celebration.
-
Live Oompah bands add such a lively touch – it's hard not to get up and join in the singing and dancing, especially on a weekend.
-
It's a top spot for groups, with events like bottomless brunches and lunches that make it easy to book and enjoy a memorable outing.
Cons
-
It can get really busy, especially during peak times, which sometimes means waiting a bit to catch the staff's attention.
-
Service might feel a tad stretched when the place is packed, with not enough team members around to keep things running smoothly for everyone.
-
As a moderate-priced venue, the costs can add up quickly if you're tucking into the food and drinks for a full session, so it's worth keeping an eye on the bill.

Been here a few times with friends and family. Always love their pork knuckle.
Tried the pork shoulder as well this time. It was really lovely!!!
What a brilliant place. We stopped for a beer and ended up with a few amazing beers and great food.
Bierkeller experience! Went to the Munich cricket club here for some lunch and the best beer in the world! German beer. As expected it is in a Keller in a very much Bavarian decor. Enjoyable, good choice of the German beers in either pint size or proper stein sizes! We ordered the food, on this occasion the feuer wurst. It came with potato salad (German favourite) and sauerkraut (German national identifier food). I have to say having been to Germany on a number of occasions. Spot on!
Beer was also excellent and crisp! All in all very good.
Deduct a mark for service, although the waitress was dressed in the traditional dress, a smile was definitely missing!
We stumbled upon this fun place after touring the Westminster Abby and parliament. So glad we ended up staying for 3 hours drinking, eating, and singing/dancing along with the Electric Oompah band! The band was fun, German Food was great and the drinks were pouring! Good place to come and party with family and friends. A hidden gem in the area!
Classic German-themed bierkeller with the Paulaner signature. The food was also quite good. There weren’t just enough waiters for us to always catch them and all the tables were full at some point with only 2 people serving. The team was really attentive even though. Food was decent. Good selection of traditional German food. Beer was also good and fresh. Pretzels were warm and tasty.
