About This Pub

Ah, The Rose, what a gem of a pub tucked away in Fulham – it's got that classic English charm that makes you want to settle in for the afternoon. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff really shine; they're chatty and attentive, turning a simple visit into a proper friendly chat, which is just what you want after a long week. The food's another highlight – think succulent roasts, tasty fish and chips, and a rotating menu of seasonal British dishes that hit the spot without breaking the bank. And don't get me started on that walled garden; it's a brilliant spot for whiling away the hours with a cold pint or a cocktail in hand, especially on a sunny day. It's versatile too, handling everything from intimate brunches to bigger celebrations with ease. On the flip side, it might feel a bit subdued at times, like on a quiet Saturday night, so if you're in the mood for a packed house and live music, it could disappoint. Still, with a solid 4.3 rating and glowing reviews about the overall experience, I'd say it's well worth a visit – just pop in with your mates and see for yourself; you might end up making it your go-to local.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, chatty, and on point with service, making you feel right at home.
  • The food is spot on, with standout dishes like the Sunday roast, fish and chips, and burgers that are fresh, seasonal, and packed with flavour.
  • That walled garden is a proper treat, perfect for soaking up the sun with mates over a drink or a bite.
  • A cracking selection of drinks, from local craft beers and exciting cocktails to carefully chosen wines, so there's something for everyone.
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming year-round, whether you're after a cosy winter evening or a vibrant summer vibe, and it's great for events like weddings or casual meet-ups.
Cons
  • It can sometimes feel a tad quiet, especially on certain evenings, which might not hit the spot if you're after a lively buzz.
  • With mostly positive feedback, there aren't many gripes, but it's worth noting that availability or busyness can vary, so booking ahead might be a good idea to avoid any surprises.

A bit quiet when we went but it's Easter weekend on a Saturday night. Staff were great, good service, had a bit of chat and the food was excellent. Plenty of offers on through the week and we'll be back to try the Sunday roast sometime soon. Fish and chips was particularly excellent, firm but cooked perfectly and with a lovely batter. Squid starter was also great (I'm told) nicely cooked chunks of squid if that's your thing.

I was there with My Friend. Bartender was friendly and admit he didn't know where one beer is coming from (honesty++). This pub have beautiful backyard with tent and Nice light garden. People had great mood (customers and employers). Good place to go sitting drinking and talking with Friend.
