About This Pub
Ah, The Rodney Inn – it's one of those hidden gems that takes you back to the good old days of proper pubs, tucked away in the lovely village of Little Baddow. I have to say, what really stands out is the genuine warmth from the staff; they're so welcoming, it feels like you're popping round to a friend's house for a chat and a drink. The food's another highlight – freshly made with heart, from hearty traditional fare to those surprising Thai curries that add a bit of spice to the menu. And let's not forget the nautical decor and that spacious garden, which is just ideal for soaking up the sun or enjoying a quiet evening with a well-kept real ale in hand. On the flip side, it's undeniably a quiet, no-frills sort of place, which is brilliant if you're in the mood for some downtime, but it might not thrill you if you're hoping for a more vibrant atmosphere with live music or a crowd. Plus, with the limited hours and no specific kids' offerings, it's probably more of a grown-ups' retreat, so do keep that in mind when planning your visit. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed catch-up or a taste of real pub charm, and I'd recommend giving it a go if you're in the area – you might just find yourself returning for that cosy feel.

The opening hours are a tad limited, so you'll need to plan ahead to catch them open, especially on quieter days.

Quiet and basic country pub run by the same couple for well over 30 years. Range of well kept ales, and home cooked Thai food.
Lovely traditional pub with tasty food and good service. Quiet outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. Thank you!
A great little cosy pub to spend a sunny Sunday watching time fly by. Has a lovely decor and charm about the place, nice to see the horses go by on the road, a good beer garden also, and some really nice real ale & beer on tap 👌 and a perfect pint of Guinness ! Very friendly staff shall definitely be coming back again indeed
