It’s rare to find a place that combines stunning views, warm hospitality, delicious food, and a laid-back yet lively atmosphere all in one — but this pub at the tip of the beach manages to do it all and more. I stumbled upon this spot by chance during a coastal walk, and honestly, it turned out to be the highlight of my entire trip.
From the moment you approach the pub, it feels like you’re stepping into something special. Nestled right at the end of the beach, with uninterrupted views of the sea and the sound of waves gently crashing nearby, the location alone is enough to take your breath away. Whether you’re visiting in the height of summer or catching the golden light on a crisp, breezy afternoon, this place radiates charm and peace.
The outdoor seating is absolutely ideal — plenty of picnic benches and tables set up to take full advantage of the view, with cozy blankets available if there’s a chill in the air. Inside, the pub is just as inviting. Think rustic wood beams, nautical touches, flickering candles, and a fireplace that gives the whole place a comforting glow. It manages to strike that perfect balance between being polished and authentically “local.”
The staff were nothing short of exceptional. Friendly, genuine, and clearly proud of the place they work at. You can tell they care about their customers and the quality of the experience they provide. Our server gave great recommendations and even shared a bit of local history about the pub and the surrounding area — a really nice touch that made us feel welcome and connected to the place.
As for the food — absolutely brilliant. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I went for the seafood platter, and it was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time: mussels in a rich white wine and garlic broth, crispy calamari, buttered prawns, and perfectly cooked fish goujons, all served with rustic bread and seasoned fries. Each bite was flavorful and clearly prepared with care. My partner ordered the steak and ale pie, and the pastry was golden and flaky, the filling rich and hearty — exactly what you'd want from a traditional pub classic.
Their drinks menu also deserves a shoutout. A wide selection of craft ales and local brews, along with ciders, wines, and some creative house cocktails. I tried a citrusy pale ale from a local brewery that was incredibly refreshing after a long walk, and the gin and tonic was perfectly balanced with fresh herbs and botanicals. We even finished with a couple of decadent desserts — the sticky toffee pudding was to die for!
By the time we left, the sky was streaked with pink and orange, and we couldn’t help but linger a bit longer to soak in the scenery and the overall feeling of contentment this place offers. It’s more than just a pub — it’s a destination. Somewhere you’ll want to return to again and again. Whether you’re a local looking for a dependable favorite or a traveler in search of a hidden coastal treasure, this place won’t disappoint.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I honestly would. Cannot recommend this spot highly enough. A truly magical experience from start to finish.
My son and I popped in for a pint so didn't have any food, very nice proper pub with a dartboard.
I had a beer I hadn't seen before FARR BREW and very nice it was, bar staff very pleasant and helpful
Freshly reopened pub. Food was surprisingly good, staff is givibg effort to please customers which is a good sign. Food menu as we wre told is not set due to fresh reopening and it will (most likely) change in near future. However, current selection on menu is safe and well prepared foods. Knowing that out of 4 different food options we had - all of us were happy. Good start and it should be kept towards good direction!
