About This Pub

So, if you're looking for a cosy spot in Luton for a pint with friends, Alfie's Bar is one that often gets a thumbs up from folks who've been there. From the reviews, it's clear the staff really shine – they're welcoming and chatty, which makes the place feel like a proper local haunt where you can kick back and relax. The pints, especially the Guinness, come highly recommended, and the prices are fair enough that you won't feel short-changed. It's especially handy if you're gearing up for a Luton match, as it's become a go-to for that pre-game buzz. On the downside, though, if you're into a bit of darts, the setup falls a bit flat – no proper line on the floor means it might not live up to expectations for a proper game night. And let's be honest, the exterior isn't the most eye-catching, so you might miss it if you're not paying attention. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, with more highs than lows based on what people are saying, but it's always good to keep those little niggles in mind before you head out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home, just like chatting with old mates.
  • They serve up a lovely pint of Guinness at decent prices, perfect for a relaxed evening.
  • It's a great spot for a few drinks before Luton matches, with good service that keeps things flowing smoothly.
  • The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the vibe.
Cons
  • The darts setup isn't ideal – no proper oche on the floor, just a rug, which might put off anyone looking for a serious game.
  • You could easily walk right past the front door without noticing it's there, so it might not stand out on a busy street.

Played darts there one evening, not the greatest set up,no oche on the floor. Just a rug, so you couldn't tell if you were standing at the right distance

You could walk rite past the front door and not know that this is a bar but when you go In you won’t want to leave. Lovely pints of Guinness served up by Alfie himself and has he some stories. It’s a lovely local bar that makes everyone feel welcome
