About This Pub

Ah, The Prince Edward, what a lovely little find in the heart of Bayswater! I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that just feels right from the moment you step inside – you know, with that classic British charm and a welcoming buzz that makes you want to settle in for the evening. The food's a real highlight; think generous portions of fish and chips or steak pie that's spot on for a comforting meal, and it's clear from the chatter that folks are genuinely chuffed with it. The staff are an absolute treat too, always friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. Plus, with quiz nights, open mic sessions, and live sports, there's always something going on to liven things up, whether you're there for a laugh or to catch the game. On the flip side, it's worth noting that prices are moderate, so it might not be the cheapest option if you're out every week, and while most reviews are glowing, there was that one where someone mentioned a small issue, perhaps expecting a bit more polish here or there. All in all, though, it's a solid spot for anyone looking for a proper pub vibe in a great location – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a relaxed pint or a bite with your lot.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely charming and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to unwind with mates after a day out in Notting Hill or Hyde Park.
  • The food is spot on, especially the traditional British dishes like fish and chips or steak pie – proper hearty portions that leave you satisfied.
  • Staff are lovely and friendly, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the cosy vibe.
  • Loads of fun events like quiz nights, open mic sessions, and live sports on the big screen keep things lively and give you a reason to pop in regularly.
  • It's in a brilliant location, just a short stroll from some of London's best spots, and they've got great deals like Burger Wednesdays to make it affordable fun.
Cons
  • Prices are on the moderate side, so it might feel a tad pricey if you're planning a regular night out rather than a special treat.
  • One or two reviews hinted at minor niggles, like perhaps not everything being absolutely perfect, though overall it's still a solid choice.

Had a lovely evening during pub-quiz-night. The steak-pie was really good and the staff was lovely.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly service and a good selection of food and drinks. We ordered fish and chips. The portions were large and very tasty. The pub wasn't too crowded, so we were able to have a good conversation without having to shout at each other :).

It was my girlfriend's first time in England, and wanting to try something typical of English cuisine, she opted for a chicken pie while I chose fish and chips. Everything was fine, exactly what we expected and what we were looking for: typical English food with two good beers! However, I would point out that in a place that was certainly not full, making diners wait more than twenty minutes without taking their order is quite odd; otherwise, the service was good.

Thank you, lovely people at this fine pub, for taking such good care of me three nights in a row this week with excellent food, wine and a cosy atmosphere on my first (solo) visit ever to London! Seriously great fish & chips, among other things.

Great little pub just off the main street in the heart of Notting Hill. Wasn’t too busy in the late afternoon. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clear. Good selection of beer on tap and the food was really good. We had the nacho platter and fish and chips, both were excellent. Will definitely return the next time we’re in London.
