About This Pub

Oh, what a lovely find The Hayden is – it's one of those places in Notting Hill that just feels right, you know? From the moment you step in, the vibe is so welcoming, with staff who genuinely make you feel at home, whether you're popping in for a drink or settling in for the night. The food's a real highlight; I've heard rave reviews about their Sunday roasts and steaks, which sound like they'd hit the spot after a day of wandering around London – think juicy, perfectly cooked meals that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank too much. And don't overlook the rooms; they're charming and comfortable, great for a quick city break, though it's worth noting that stairs are the only way up, so it might not be ideal if you're not up for that. On the flip side, with all those specials like happy hours and lunch deals, it's easy to see why folks keep coming back. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a mix of good grub, a friendly chat, and a bit of comfort, but just keep an eye on the costs if you're watching your wallet.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The rooms are cosy and well-equipped, with air conditioning and a welcoming feel, ideal for a comfortable stay right in the heart of Notting Hill.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile to make sure you're having a great time, from carrying luggage to offering warm welcomes.
  • Great location in Notting Hill, perfect for exploring London, with plenty of offers like happy hours and discounts that make it even more appealing.
  • The food and drinks menu is packed with delicious options, including steaks cooked to perfection and fun deals like two-for-one cocktails.
Cons
  • The rooms are only accessible via stairs, which might not suit everyone, especially if you're travelling with heavy bags or have mobility concerns.
  • As a moderate-priced spot, it could feel a tad on the expensive side for everyday visits, though the quality makes it worth it for special occasions.

We had the Sunday Roast at around 3pm today. We must say it was absolutely outstanding and delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, I mean the chicken breast was moist and succulent. The vegetables, yorkshire pudding and gravy sealed the deal to complete a wonderful roast dinner that was very filling. The staff were very attentive and served us cocktails, procceco, coffee and water and even though we spend a lot of money it was well worth it. The decor and cleanliness of the pub and the impressive black toilet furniture made us think the standards in this pub are very high. We are going back next week that's how impressed we were. Before we left we asked the staff to pass on our compliments to the chef. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PUB....WHY NOT GIVE IT A TRY!!

Excellent stay both times. We loved the location and the place so much that we decided to stay there again on our last night. The rooms are only accessible by stairs, but the staff are happy to help bring luggage up. The rooms are adorable and air conditioned. The location is also great. We can't wait to come back again!

BEST OF THE BEST!!. Many people think their Pub has the Best Sunday roast, but have they attended the Hayden. The staff, they score 10. Professionals, helpful and friendly. They went out of there way to ensure we enjoyed a pleasurable experience. Calamari starter, utterly exquisite, not rubbery or chewy. Roast beef starter, melt in your mouth beef served with all of the trimmings and lashings of gravy. Proper gravy as my friend described it! We all enjoyed various desserts I had cheesecake, delicious. The food was a Gastronomical delight, each tasty morsel. We will be back! Thank you. :)

Highly recommend the restaurant for a delicious meal, you will be more than pleasantly surprised. We were keen for a steak and we read that it was available on the menu as we were passing and decided to give it a try. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We ordered one rare and another medium rare and that is exactly how they came. They were so tasty. We also ordered the sausages and WOW we don't know what was more delightful, the deliciously perfect sausage in luscious brown onion sauce or the delectable truffle mash that it was served on. Wonderful atmosphere and the service was attentive and friendly which just topped off the experience for us. We were just sorry that we didn't discover The Hayden sooner, as we were leaving the next day.
