About This Pub
Oh, The Playwright, it's one of those places that just warms you up from the moment you step in. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the staff are proper gems, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly – it's that kind of welcoming vibe that makes you want to stick around. The pizzas are spot on, cooked in a wood-fired oven and with deals like 2 for 1 on Mondays, it's a winner for a casual meal. Pair that with a great range of craft beers and cocktails, and you've got yourself a solid spot for unwinding. They've got live sports on the go, plus pool and shuffleboard for some added fun, which is brilliant if you're up for a bit of banter and games. It's especially handy for students with those exclusive deals, and being dog-friendly just adds to the charm. On the flip side, it does get lively, so if you're in the mood for a peaceful pint, you might find it a tad overwhelming. And with prices being moderate, it's worth keeping an eye on the tab if you're out with a group. All in all, it's a top-notch choice for us in Nottingham – honest, it's got that balance of good times and a few things to note, making it a reliable go-to for a proper pub experience.

The best pub in Nottingham, 2 pool tables, really friendly and welcoming staff, decent prices for drinks and food and 2 for 1 pizza deal on a Monday. The best wood fired pizza I’ve had! Nothing negative can be said about this pub!
Had an amazing experience here. Pizza was delicious and the chef Alex was brilliant. The bar staff James and Nat were super helpful and kind and couldn’t do enough for you. This is the perfect pub for a good night out.
Great place for a drink. Came in on Friday night… it wasn’t too busy and wasn’t too quiet. Great mix of students and locals. Somewhere I would definitely come again for a mellow pint. Pool table as well for a bit of fun. Good vibes in here, I recommend.

First time in Nottingham, and I visited this amazing pub. I should say it should be in everyone's bucket list if you ever visit Nottingham. Friendly staff and swift service. They have a beer, Gatden, and a private area for special occasions.
