About This Pub
Ah, The Piper, what a cracking little pub it is in Chester! From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's got this homely feel where the food really shines – I'm talking mouth-watering Sunday roasts that come out piping hot and full of flavour, or those fish and chips that leave you wanting more. The staff, like Nathan and Alan, are just brilliant; they're so attentive and make you feel like a regular from the get-go, even going out of their way for little things. It's spotlessly clean and comfortable, ideal for a family meal or a birthday bash, and the prices are fair, so you won't feel short-changed. On the flip side, the website's a bit of a letdown – hard to navigate, which might put you off if you're trying to plan ahead. Plus, if you're gluten-free, there are options, but desserts are slim pickings, and it only opens at noon, so early starts aren't on the cards. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, with plenty to love and just a few niggles that keep it real.

-
It's a cosy and clean spot, perfect for a relaxed meal or a catch-up with mates, making you feel right at home.
-
Great value for money with reasonable prices, so you can enjoy a proper meal without breaking the bank.
-
They've got decent options for different dietary needs, like gluten-free choices, which is a nice touch for everyone.
Cons
-
The website's a bit of a faff to access, so you might have to pop in or give them a ring to get the full scoop.
-
Gluten-free desserts are a tad limited, which could disappoint if you're after more variety on that front.
-
It doesn't open until midday, so if you're an early bird, you might need to find somewhere else for a morning pint or bite.

Went for dinner this evening and can't rate high enough. Food was excellent and served in a timely manner. Staff very attentive, especially Nathan who got me extra gravy 👌
We visited The Piper today, with family and we all ordered the Sunday roast, which was absolutely delicious and piping hot too! Staff were so efficient and very friendly, they made our whole dining experience an enjoyable one. Alan, the landlord, really went out of his way to make sure all his guests were well looked after, he has a great team and manages them well. Many thanks, to Alan & staff, we can’t wait to return again soon! 5 stars all round!

Came here today to complete some work... Alan (landlord) was very welcoming and accommodated my visit early morning even though the pub doesn't open till 12.

Great family local with amazing food reviews.
We went here for my mum's birthday as they have a decent gluten free menu (although only 2 dessert options). Our waiter/bartender was Nathan, he was lovely, friendly and did his job well & with a smile. He also brought mum's gluten free meal out first so it wouldn't get confused with other meals which we appreciated. The chef that day was Colin and he did a great job with the food, it was all amazing, I had the Mediterranean linguine which was delicious, the pesto especially was great. The others got fish & chips and my god the fish was huge! The batter on the gluten free fish was nice & crispy which is rare, usually it's soft/mushy at other places so mum was happy about that. All in all it was a wonderful meal(starters & a main), in a nice place with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
The place was clean too, including the bathroom.
We came here because of electric car charging, but due to good reviews, I gave it a try.
Food is very nice with reasonable price, service is prompt and friendly. We tried 2 types of fish and chips. Although both are good, but I recommend Halloumi fish and chips. Cajun fried chicken burger is good too.
Yes, the toilet is clean too. Overall good stop and excellent food.
