About This Pub
Ah, The Pineapple – it's one of those pubs that really warms the cockles of your heart, tucked away in the quiet streets near Kentish Town. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's got this brilliant mix of old-school pub vibes and a surprising twist with its Thai kitchen, serving up dishes that are far better than your average pub fare. I love how they've kept the historic feel intact since 1868, with that Grade II listed bar and a lovely conservatory and garden out back for when the sun's out. The craft ales are spot on, reasonably priced too, and it's dead easy to while away an afternoon with a pint and some tasty bites during happy hour or that budget lunch deal. It's also got that community spirit with events like the Monday pub quiz, and being dog-friendly just adds to the relaxed, inclusive atmosphere. On the flip side, though, it's not without its quirks – you can't book for small groups, which might leave you hanging on busier nights, and the no-under-18s rule after 7 pm means it's more of an adults-only spot in the evenings. Overall, it's a solid choice for a catch-up with friends over good food and drinks, but do pop in early or on a quieter day to make the most of it without any hassle.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The Thai food is an absolute treat – it's surprisingly delicious for a pub, with options like Massaman curry that hit the spot every time.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of craft ales, all carefully chosen and reasonably priced, even by London standards.
-
The atmosphere is just lovely; it's a cosy, historic spot with a sun-kissed conservatory and garden that's perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening.
-
They're super dog-friendly, which makes it a welcoming place for anyone popping in with their furry friend.
-
Happy hour deals and affordable lunch menus keep things accessible, and the pub quiz on Mondays adds a fun community vibe.
Cons
-
Reservations are only for groups of 10 or more, so it can be a bit of a faff if you're just meeting a few mates and want to secure a table.
-
No one under 18 after 7 pm means it's not ideal for family outings in the evening, which might limit its appeal at certain times.
-
While the food's great, some might find the Thai menu a tad standard without much variety beyond the classics.
-
It can get bustling, especially in the evenings, so you might end up waiting for a seat if you don't time it right.

We used to live right next door to The Pineaaple pub back when it only served sandwiches. Even though we were right next door we always went to The Palmers arms as our local because it served a proper menu. Today we came back to The Pineapple for the first time since we moved away from the area for a gorgeous Sunday roast which was hands down an 11/10 from me! It had a great veggie option and had cauliflower cheese included in that roast when normally anywhere else you need to order this as an extra side. Service was 10/10 and the food was served promptly and everything was perfect ! Wish we still lived next door now!!! Brilliant transformation:D
Good to have a late lunch here. They offer a nice lunch deal for £7.5 only excluding drinks. Massaman curry was better than I had expected. A nice pub serving thai food in a calm neighborhood.
Great find in Kentish Town. Good selection of beers reasonably priced for London and yummy Thai food on the menu. Much better than your bog standard pub grub.
Traditional pub feel with nice conservatory and garden too.
Cozy and warm, with plenty of seating upstairs and some downstairs. The fireplaces were going and they had impressive Christmas trees up, and it was lovely!
The food was stellar as well, very fast service too. The menus are put out at 6 and we ordered right away, and received all of our food within 15 minutes of ordering. The prices were very reasonable, and everything good quality.
I particularly loved the corn cakes and the green curry. The menu has something for everyone and they also had a good beer selection.
Cute pub with amazing Thai Food.
Located on the residential streets behind Kentish Town. This pub looks small from the front however inside it has a conservatory eating area and an outdoors eating area at the back.
The food is what you would find on a standard Thai restaurant menu.
We had the mixed starter - which only gave one piece of each thing, so not great if you’re dining as a couple. We also had garlic chicken stir fry.
The food and drinks are very reasonably priced.
A cute weekday dinner spot.
