About This Pub

Ah, The Owl & The Pussycat – what a little hidden gem in West Ealing! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really shines with its fantastic range of beers, all brewed right there, offering everything from light ales to rich, dark ones, and even some stellar ciders and perry. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and dishing out great advice on what to try, which adds to that cosy, welcoming feel. Prices are fair too, so you can enjoy a few without worrying about the wallet. On the flip side, though, some folks mention the beers can have a home-brew vibe, a bit yeasty at times, which might not hit the spot if you're used to smoother commercial options. And it's got this informal, kitchen-like setup with mismatched chairs, which is charming in its own way but could feel a touch rustic for those wanting a more traditional pub experience. All in all, if you're a beer enthusiast looking for a relaxed spot to unwind with mates, it's well worth a visit – just keep those opening hours in mind, as they wind down fairly early, especially on Sundays. I'd say it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, balancing out the highs and lows nicely.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely brilliant, with a fantastic variety of cask ales, ciders, and perry – something for everyone, whether you fancy a light brew or something darker.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable; they really know their stuff and make you feel right at home.
  • Prices are spot on for a micropub – affordable and reasonable, so you won't break the bank for a pint.
  • It's got that lovely community feel, like popping into a local gem where the beers are brewed on site, and they even offer takeaways for a cheeky one at home.
  • Overall, it's a welcoming spot with top-notch brews that keep people coming back for more.
Cons
  • Some of the beers can taste a bit like home brew and might be on the yeasty side, which isn't everyone's cup of tea.
  • It's not your typical pub setup – more like someone's cosy kitchen with mismatched furniture, so if you're after a fancy or polished atmosphere, it might feel a tad informal.
  • The opening hours are a bit limited, especially wrapping up early on Sundays, which could be a downer if you're out late.

This is a great micropub. The brewer Mark is a genius! Paul, his counterpart, is affable, and most diligent is keeping the wheels on this most valuable West Ealing community asset. Always a varied range of cask available, light, dark, and all hues in-between. I defy you not to like something, if not all, that is on offer. Go there; go there now!

Excellent brewpub, great selection of beer and an even better selection of cider and perry!

It's a local tap room or micro brewery. The cask ales are ok but the taste is like home brew and quite yeasty.

An absolute local treasure. You need to brace yourself before you go in - this is not a pub in the usual sense. Much more like sitting in someone’s kitchen - mismatched tables and chairs abound. But the beers are top notch, the barman helpful and knowledgeable, and the prices very reasonable for an excellent independent brew.

So popped in for a pint as I saw on Facebook that they brew there own beer and was pleased to say it was great. The beer is lovely and my server knew his stuff and price wise thought £4.60 was fine. Nice beer great attitude. They also do takeaways in various sizes so that’s a bonus. Happy to recommend
