About This Pub
Ah, The Orange Tree – what a lovely little find in Wolverhampton! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with this warm, welcoming vibe that's just right for unwinding with friends or treating the family to something special. The food really steals the show; think tender grills and flavoursome Indian dishes that hit the spot every time, with rave reviews about the masala chips and cheesy naan that are simply irresistible. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, whether you're popping in for a takeaway cocktail or booking a table for a birthday bash – it's clear they're passionate about creating a memorable experience. It's especially great for groups, with a nicely renovated space that feels fresh and inviting, and even the option to catch the footy while you dine adds a nice touch. On the flip side, though, parking's a bit of a nuisance with no dedicated spots, so you might end up circling the streets, and things tend to wind down early in the evening, which could be a downer if you're after a longer session. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone craving authentic Indian fare in a relaxed environment – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a balanced, enjoyable outing.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – authentic Indian dishes that are full of flavour, with highlights like those masala chips and cheesy naan bread that leave you wanting more.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates, whether you're there for a quick takeaway or a full sit-down meal.
-
It's a brilliant spot for groups and families, with a warm, newly renovated atmosphere that's perfect for celebrations like birthdays, and they even have the footy on for a bit of extra entertainment.
-
Drinks are reasonably priced, and the overall vibe is relaxed and inviting, making it easy to settle in for a good chat over a meal.
-
They offer plenty of options for dine-in, takeaway, or delivery through services like Just Eat and Uber Eats, so it's convenient no matter your plans.
Cons
-
Parking can be a bit of a hassle, as there's no dedicated car park and you'll have to find a spot on the surrounding streets, which might not be ideal on busier evenings.
-
The operating hours seem to wrap up fairly early, typically around 10 or 11 pm, so it might not suit those looking for a late-night spot after a long day.
-
While the service is generally top-notch, one or two experiences mentioned it being straightforward but not overly personalised, which could leave you wanting a tad more attention if you're in a larger group.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I came yesterday to order a takeaway and whilst I waited I ordered a cocktail. Both food and drink did not disappoint. I've only just heard of this place and its a place I will be returning to. We thoroughly enjoyed the food it was delicious. They offer a great variety for both meat and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant is quirky and cosy. I understand how this place becomes busy because the food/drink,environment and atmosphere are outstanding.
Omg if toy have never eaten here than you need to sort yourself out , it was brilliant food to die for them masala chips and cheesy naan bread and the family mix grill was amazing.
Service was fantastic and drinks were reasonably priced.
A plus was they had footy to watch too.
Defo be coming back.
We booked a meal for my Daughters 16th birthday we were a group of 26 including adults and children. The staff were amazing, food was delicious and all came quickly for everyone. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and is very clean. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We went for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really warm and nice. Amar was really friendly and welcoming and the staff were really kind. From the drinks to starters to main, everything was perfect. I requested the restaurant staff to bring out the cake for my daughter as a surprise, and they did it. It was a good surprise for my daughter. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
An overall pleasant experience from start to end.
Note that there is no separate car park so you will have to park on the streets around the pub.
As you walk in you’re welcomed by a very well presented restaurant. The staff welcome you upon arrival which makes the experience even better.
The bar is well stocked and the food menu has all of the favourites you would expect.
The mixed grill is average both based on size and flavour.
The curries are very good. Just make sure you ask / request for your own spice level.
Enjoy.
