About This Pub

Ah, The Three Cups – it's one of those neighbourhood spots that really pulls you in with its welcoming feel. I have to say, the staff are absolute stars; they're so chatty and attentive, just like Amy who's been singled out for always nailing that perfect pint of Guinness. It's inexpensive too, which makes it a brilliant choice for a relaxed evening out without breaking the bank. The food often gets high marks, with folks raving about the fantastic meals and lovely service, but let's be honest, it's not flawless – a couple of reviews mentioned underwhelming bits like chips that weren't quite done or a burger that fell flat on taste. The atmosphere is lively enough for a good laugh with friends, yet it does have that old-school charm that's starting to show its age, with decor that could use a bit of a makeover to shake off the dust. All in all, it's a solid pick if you're after a friendly pint and some decent grub, but maybe keep expectations in check for the finer details – it's got heart, but room for improvement.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They serve a cracking pint of Guinness that's always spot on – it's the saving grace for many a visit.
  • The food is generally fantastic, with plenty of positive feedback on the options available for a good, hearty meal.
  • It has a lively atmosphere that's perfect for a casual get-together with mates, especially if you're a local.
Cons
  • Some dishes can be hit or miss, like undercooked chips or a disappointing burger that lacks flavour.
  • The decor feels a bit outdated and worn, with the place needing a good tidy-up to freshen things up.
  • Food quality isn't always consistent, which might leave you wanting more if you're after a reliable dining experience.

The burger I had was terrible. Not worth it. 0 taste nothing. The pub itself is old, atmosphere was ok you can tell it's for the locals. Pretty old decor and needs a good clean up. However the saving grace for this place is that it does a cracking pint of Guinness. That's all. Wouldn't really ever come back here but if you want a good pint of Guinness then check this place out.
