About This Pub
Ah, The One O'Clock Gun, what a gem tucked away in the heart of Liverpool's docklands. I have to say, it's one of those places that just draws you in with its warm, inviting atmosphere and that prime spot right on the quayside – imagine sipping a cold one in the beer garden while watching the boats go by; it's pure bliss on a sunny day. The live music really lifts the spirits, turning an ordinary evening into something memorable, and the staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a friendly chat and speedy service that makes you feel like a regular from the get-go. They've got a solid lineup of drinks, from cracking cocktails to a variety of beers, and the food menu hits the spot with comforting options like stacked sandwiches and pies that pair perfectly with a pint. On the flip side, it can sometimes feel a bit subdued, especially if you're hoping for a packed house on a midweek night, and if real ale is your thing, you might need to look elsewhere since it's more about craft brews here. All in all, it's a fantastic spot for a casual get-together or catching some live tunes, but it's worth keeping in mind for those quieter moments – I'd definitely pop in again for the views and vibes alone.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The location is absolutely spot on, right on the quayside at Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock, with a lovely beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying the views.
-
They've got a cracking atmosphere with live music that really gets the evening going – it's just the thing for a fun night out.
-
The staff are super friendly and attentive, always quick with a smile and your order, making you feel right at home.
-
A great selection of drinks and food on offer, from punchy cocktails and craft beers to hearty sandwiches and pies that look and taste spot on.
-
Prices are pretty reasonable for a city centre spot, so you won't break the bank for a good time.
Cons
-
It can be a bit quiet on some evenings, like a Friday night that wasn't buzzing except for a group, which might not suit those after a lively crowd.
-
If you're a fan of real ale, you might find the craft beers a tad disappointing as they're not quite the traditional stuff.
-
The food menu seems solid, but from what I've seen, it's more about pub classics rather than anything fancy, so it might not wow if you're after something more adventurous.

Highly recommend this venue on Liverpool docks. Amazing atmosphere. Called in last Friday and there was live music . A brilliant night we'll be back.
Liverpool match on so atmosphere was good. Prices as expected in a city centre pub. Craft beers not real ale but the bevvie was OK.
Nice place to come for a drink with a good range of drinks. TV's dotted around the pubs to watch sports on. Quick service with a smile and a great view of the Albert Dock outside.
One of the best looking full english breakfasts i ever had. It also tasted amazing, the beans were not just from the can, the egg was on point and the black pudding delicious. As a plus you have a friendly service and a great sight.
We visited The one o'clock gun Albert dock on a sunny 🌞 Sunday afternoon whilst out enjoying the Liverpool waterfront. We only stayed for one quick cocktail 🍸. Upon entering, the bar was quiet, although the surroundings was nice. The barman was friendly and took our orders promptly, and drinks 🍸 was served in good order. The cocktails we chose were really lovely and set us up to further explore the wonderful Albert dock. They weren't serving any food while we were there as we would have liked to dine also but nevertheless we enjoyed our drinks. I might pop in again next time in at the Albert Dock.
