About This Pub
Ah, The Long Shot, what a gem tucked away in the heart of Albert Dock! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really gets it right for anyone who loves a good pint and some live action on the telly. Picture this: you're settled in with mates, surrounded by 11 massive 4K screens and a projector that makes you feel like you're at the stadium itself, all while sipping on a beautifully crafted cocktail or a cold beer from their impressive selection. The food's a real highlight too – those monster sandwiches and unique drinks have left a lot of folks chuffed, and the staff? They're just brilliant, always on hand with a smile and top service, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or hosting something special like a birthday bash or even a wedding. It's dog-friendly as well, which is a lovely touch for those who want to bring the whole family along. On the flip side, though, it can feel a bit subdued during quieter hours, so if you're after that electric atmosphere, timing your visit right is key – and do book ahead, as it gets packed for the big matches. Overall, it's a solid choice for a night out, with that perfect mix of fun and relaxation, but it's not without its little niggles, like needing to plan around the crowds. If you're in Liverpool and fancy a spot that's got heart, give it a go; you'll likely leave with a smile, just like so many others have.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially for watching live sports with massive screens and a killer sound system – you'll feel right in the thick of the action!
-
The staff are an absolute delight; they're friendly, professional, and go the extra mile to make sure everyone has a great time, whether you're there for a casual drink or a big event.
-
The food and drinks are top-notch – think delicious sandwiches, unique cocktails, and a solid selection of beers, all served up in a way that feels a cut above your average pub fare.
-
It's a fantastic spot for celebrations, with options for parties, weddings, and even bringing your furry friends along, making it super versatile for all sorts of get-togethers.
-
Located in the historic Albert Dock, it's got that perfect blend of modern vibes and a prime spot that's easy to get to, with plenty of nearby parking.
Cons
-
It can be a bit quiet at off-peak times, like a lazy Sunday afternoon, so if you're after a lively crowd, you might want to check the schedule first.
-
Booking ahead is a must for popular events, as it fills up quickly, and turning up on the off-chance could leave you disappointed if there's no space.
-
While the drinks and food get rave reviews, some might find the options a tad limited if you're not in the mood for sports bar classics, though that's a minor quibble.

We held our daughters baby shower in the bar. From booking with Edmund to on the day itself everything ran smoothly. Staff were amazing, and Mikey really looked after us. The food was fantastic and everyone who attend said what a brilliant time they had! Would highly recommend if you are celebrating any occasion! Thanks so much to everyone involved for a great day!🥰🥰
I popped in on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty quiet although that didn't detract from the experience.
Special mention has to made to the bar staff who are exemplary; bright, professional and helpful.
I had the steak sandwich with chimichurri dip. It was Delicious; the steak was cooked as I had asked and the dip was a game changer.
I wished in Liverpool and not Oxford because this sandwich would be reasonable to go to The Long Shot.
Held my daughter's 21st birthday party on the 29th March'25 here. Everyone had a fantastic time. The venue, food and service where excellent. Most of all the staff where absolutely brilliant. Ed, Wes, Mickey & Co. looked after us. I would highly recommend this place as a party / event venue.
Thank you for making my daughters day so special for her!
We booked to watch a football match with two teens. Parking close by, plenty of seating but defo would advise to book. We added to the booking that we had kids and they picked us a great table. Food was great, drinks and table service was excellent and the staff were ace. Really enjoyed the afternoon and would defo go again if in the area.
We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food, but the bar service was quick and friendly. Happy hour beers were 2 for £5 (bottle of Stella or Heineken). Nice atmosphere. Great place for a drink.
