About This Pub
Ah, The Bierkeller in Liverpool—it's one of those places that really gets you in the mood for a good time, isn't it? From the moment you step in, you're hit with this infectious energy, all those giant steins, oompah bands, and the cheers from the big screens showing live sports; it's just brilliant if you're out with mates looking to let loose. I love how they've got different zones under one roof—the main Bierkeller for that full-on party feel, the Lodge for a slightly more relaxed cocktail vibe, and Shooters for the ultimate sports bar experience with games and beers on tap. Plus, the outdoor beer garden is a gem when the weather's nice, offering a bit of fresh air and people-watching right in the heart of Liverpool ONE. On the flip side, though, it does get packed to the gills, especially during events or on match days, which can make it tricky to get a seat or hear yourself think. And if you're not up for a noisy, boisterous crowd, it might feel a tad overwhelming—think pounding tables and singalongs that are fun but can be a lot. Overall, it's a solid choice for a memorable evening, as long as you go in expecting a proper knees-up rather than a quiet pint.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing with that authentic German beer hall vibe, mixed with a proper Scouse twist—perfect for a lively night out with friends.
-
They've got massive screens everywhere for watching live sports, making it a top spot if you're into football or any big games.
-
The outdoor beer garden is brilliant on a sunny day; it's a lovely place to relax with a cold pint and soak up the vibes in Liverpool ONE.
-
Loads of bar games and different areas like the Bierkeller, Lodge, and Shooters mean there's something for everyone, whether you're up for dancing or just chilling.
-
It's great for groups and events, with options for stag dos, hen dos, and even Oktoberfest celebrations—always feels welcoming and fun.
Cons
-
It can get incredibly busy, especially on weekends or sunny days, so you might end up queuing or struggling to find a table.
-
The noise and rowdy crowds might be a bit much if you're after a quiet drink; it's more about the full-on party experience.
-
Some folks might find the sheer energy overwhelming, like after one too many steins, as it can turn into a bit of a whirlwind.
-
While it's moderately priced, things add up quickly with the big steins and extras, so it might not be the best for a budget night out.

Experiencing the Bierkeller on a Saturday night was like walking through a fever dream I later blamed on culture shock and one too many of those impressive steins. The singing, the dancing, the pounding of beers or fists on tables was remarkably in sync for people who had definitely had a few, and I distinctly remember being impressed by some of the performers who managed acrobatic-like talents with a grace I could never summon on a good day. Credit to the staff who were efficient and patient with our group and helped to create a memorable experience (despite the steins!)
Great place to go for a drink in the sunshine, its lovely sitting outside there watching the world go by. Its even better if you like bar games as there are loads of them. And if you want to watch sport on the TV then it just gets better for you as there are TV everywhere 😉 😀 👍
I've only been here before on sunny days and sat outside on the balcony with a pint. It's a nice place to spend an afternoon with a nice view of the Albert Dock. It does get busy though when the weather's good so you need to get there early if you want a table. Today it was cold so I sat inside for the first time. It's huge inside with two floors and plenty of benches. Service was quick and efficient and a good selection of beers. I must come back one day and try out the German food.
The Bierkeller is a fantastic spot for football fans who love a spirited, communal vibe. The blend of German tradition with sports culture creates a one of a kind venue, perfect for group outings or celebrating big wins. Just be prepared for the noise and excitement, it’s all part of the charm!
Fantastic place, football on screens and also live music.
Large group of us and this place was perfect to meet up and plan the night ahead whilst enjoying beers and jägers 🤦♂️
Great atmosphere and well worth visiting if you’re in Liverpool.
