About This Pub

Ah, The Oddfellows Arms – it's one of those pubs that really hits the mark when it comes to hearty, delicious grub that'll have you coming back for more. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food is a standout; folks rave about the massive portions and tasty Sunday carveries that feel like a proper treat without breaking the bank. Those half-price deals are a nice touch too, making it feel like a smart choice for a casual night out. It's got that classic pub charm, and being open every day makes it super convenient. On the flip side, though, service isn't always up to scratch – you might get hurried along or left hanging, which can be a bit frustrating after a long day. There've been a couple of horror stories about odd finds in the food or dodgy facilities like broken toilet locks, so it's not perfect by any means. Still, with an overall solid rating, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area; just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a grand time swapping stories over a pint and a plate.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is absolutely spot on – think huge portions of hot, tasty meals that leave you feeling well satisfied.
  • It's a great value spot, especially with those half-price deals on mains when you get a starter; makes it a bargain for a proper pub grub experience.
  • They've got a welcoming vibe in places, with some staff serving up smiles and making the visit feel like a proper local haunt.
  • Being open seven days a week with reasonable hours means it's easy to pop in for a bite or a drink whenever the mood strikes.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit inconsistent; sometimes you're rushed into ordering before you've even glanced at the menu, and smiles aren't always on the agenda.
  • There have been a few off moments with the food, like finding something unexpected in a dish, which puts a damper on things even if they try to make it right.
  • Little niggles like broken locks on the toilets show that not everything's as polished as it could be, which might spoil the overall feel.
  • It can feel a tad slow at times, with waits for service that leave you wondering if you've been forgotten.

Food was amazing tho staff hardly smiled and after sitting down straight away we got asked what we wanted to eat without even looking at the menu. Then we was left for 20mins till my partner went to bar to order. When food came it was amazing and lovely so we let the service side slide

Very disappointed yesterday as food is usually good. The chips were awful and i found sonething like plastic in my fish, the chef said it was bone but im not convinced. They gave us an option of another meal but we declined. They didnt charge for dessert. Also two of the toilet door locks were broken. A bit reluctant to go back although the staff were really nice.

Amazing food everytime, you usually have to book in advance, you get a good amount of food. Half price main with any starter, Jan, Feb, March, these are huge, (around £6). Meals £10+. You can get extra sauces if needed. I don't get a pudding, always to full just eating a main, but they are a good size.
