About This Pub
Oh, The Mug House is just one of those places that sticks with you, isn't it? Nestled in the grounds of Claines Church and dating back over 700 years, it's got this wonderful olde worlde charm that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. I love how they've kept things authentic, serving up a fine range of traditional ales and some proper home-cooked grub that hits the spot after a long day. The staff are absolute stars, always up for a chat, and it's brilliant for catching up with friends over a pint in the peaceful surroundings. Plus, with outdoor seating and being dog-friendly, it's spot on for a relaxed afternoon. That said, it's not without its quirks – from the reviews, it seems they can be a tad understaffed sometimes, leading to waits for your drink, and the lack of music or telly might make it feel a bit subdued if you're in the mood for something more upbeat. All in all, though, it's a real hidden gem for anyone who appreciates a good, honest pub with a story to tell, and with such high ratings, I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Pros and Cons

Cons
-
Service can be a bit slow at times, like when there's only one person handling everything and other tasks take priority.
-
It's tucked away on the outskirts, which might make it tricky to get to if you're not local or driving.
-
No music, games, or TVs means it can feel quite quiet, so if you're after a more lively buzz, it might not hit the spot.

1 person serving and more interested in doing jobs around the pub than pouring beer! Waited 10 min for a pint, didn't have a second we went to another pub.
Visited this establishment on the back of listening to a podcast. Haunted Worcestershire Pubs. Ghost tales by the fireside.
What a wonderful place full of olde worlde atmosphere, the kind of pubs I enjoy.
One of only 2 pubs built on consecrated ground apparently.
Sat outside in the warm sunshine with a pint.
If you have never been to this pub do yourself a favour and visit, its fabulous and a warm welcome is awaiting you.
It's a great old-fashioned pub. No music, games or TV. Just great beers and a place to chat with friends.
Russ, the landlord has slowly gone blind but manages to maintain high standards.
Great little middle of nowhere pub on the outskirts of town. Always great atmosphere. Seating in pots outside area with heaters. Good beers and friendly staff.
What a great pub and garden that sits against a backdrop of the Malvern hills. The staff were lovely and a proper old school place to sit and enjoy life. Didn't eat here so can only give 4 stars but hope to return soon. Dog friendly and good walks nearby.
