About This Pub

Ah, The Northwick Arms – it's one of those unassuming little spots in Worcester that really grows on you, like discovering your new favourite local haunt. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the landlord and landlady are absolute gems, always ready with a smile and a chat, making it feel like you're popping round to a mate's house rather than just another pub. They've got a cracking range of real ales and other drinks that won't break the bank, and it's spot on for families or if you're out with the dog, adding to that inclusive, down-to-earth charm. The live music nights and games like darts and pool keep things entertaining without it getting too rowdy, and the outdoor garden is a proper treat when the weather's on your side. On the flip side, though, there are a couple of niggles – some folks have mentioned vaping going on inside, which can be a bit off-putting if you're sensitive to that, and the accessibility isn't perfect with no adapted facilities. Still, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint and a catch-up, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, as long as you go in with realistic expectations for a traditional setup.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • A warm and friendly welcome that makes you feel right at home, just like chatting with old mates.
  • A fantastic selection of real ales, ciders, lagers, wines, and spirits at inexpensive prices – perfect for a budget-friendly night out.
  • Family and dog friendly, so it's great for bringing the little ones or your furry friend along for a relaxed vibe.
  • Loads of entertainment on offer, like live music, darts, pool, and even table games, keeping things lively without being overwhelming.
  • Outdoor spaces including a sun terrace and a large rear garden, ideal for enjoying a pint in the fresh air on a sunny evening.
Cons
  • There have been a few grumbles about vaping indoors, which can spoil the atmosphere for those who prefer a smoke-free space.
  • Accessibility is a bit limited, with wheelchair access to the pub but no adapted toilet, so it might not suit everyone.
  • It opens fairly late in the afternoon, around 3 PM, which means it's not the best spot if you're after a lunchtime tipple.
  • Being a small, back-street boozer, it can feel a tad cosy and intimate, which might not appeal if you're after something more spacious.

I popped in here after work. It's clean, snug, and has a pool table and a dart board. The beer garden is out the back. Friendly service and clientele. I would recommend this pleasant little boozer.
