About This Pub
Ah, The Raven – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its fresh, relaxed feel, especially since it reopened after that big refurb in 2025. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food's a highlight; think straightforward, seasonal dishes that cater to all sorts, whether you're after a veggie option or something gluten-free, and the lunch deals are an absolute bargain for a satisfying feed. The staff are brilliant too – always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which adds to that homely pub atmosphere. Pair that with the spacious layout and occasional live music nights, and you've got a spot that's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint or a meal. But, let's be real, it's not all roses; a few folks have mentioned some dishes coming out a tad bland, like the fish and chips that didn't quite deliver, and the veg sides can be a bit sparse, leaving you wanting more for your money. Overall, though, if you're in Worcester, it's worth a visit – just go in with an open mind, and you'll likely have a great time, especially if you time it right for one of those events.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is generally spot on, with a fantastic range of options for vegetarians, vegans, and those needing gluten-free choices – it's refreshing to see a pub that's so inclusive.
-
Service is warm and cheerful; staff like Sienna really make you feel welcome, adding that personal touch to your visit.
-
The atmosphere is lovely – spacious, light, and airy, with a beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the vibes on a nice day.
-
Great value on deals like the lunch menu, where you get solid portions for a reasonable price, making it a winner for a casual outing.
-
They've got fun events like live music, which keeps things lively and gives you more reason to pop in regularly.
Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit underwhelming, like the fish and chips that were described as bland with too much batter – not every meal hits the mark.
-
The vegetable selection falls short sometimes, with reviewers noting it wasn't as generous or varied as expected, which is a shame for a hearty pub meal.
-
Value for money isn't always spot on; for instance, a meal for two with drinks came to £60 and left some feeling it didn't quite justify the cost.
-
As a recently refurbished spot, there might still be a few teething problems, so it's not flawless just yet.

The new raven is brilliant. I had the lunch 2 courses and the value for money is very good. Processco, linguine and Sticky toffee pudding all for £17.50. I have been served by Sienna twice now. Once with my partner and another time with my mum and she is always so cheerful when serving us. And was especially helpful with my mum who has a gluten intolerance.
Will recommend to all friends and family.
Looks great , nice and busy establishment.
Bread starter , nice & warm. Had to ask for plates.
Fish & chip main. Very bland & a lot of batter.
10oz pork chop. Decent & tender.
Worth £60 , including 1 drink each !!!? Hmmm not really.
Waited for the Raven to reopen after it's renovation and was definitely not disappointed. A lovely place to go for a meal now - light, airy, spacious and extremely pleasant. The service is traditional and old fashioned - by that I mean it's super -courteous and very friendly. The food? Wow - the food is stunning!! Not the cheapest menu around, but well worth the expense. Already looking forward to returning for another visit.
We went on a Saturday evening and the food was outstanding! The restaurant was spacious and the service was amazing! There was also a wide range of food for Vegetarians, Vegans and Gluten Free options! I love this restaurant, I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Lovely, light and airy restaurant.
We went on Sunday and opted for Roast Chicken.
The meals had a great flavour, really very tasty indeed with plenty of gravy.
The veg selection was very disappointing, we thought there might be another bowl to follow, unfortunately there was not.
For the price we paid £17.50 pp, we did expect more veg.
We were advised by the waitress at the end to ask for more veg next time we go.
