About This Pub
Ah, The Moon and Cross in Waltham Cross – it's one of those Wetherspoon spots that you might pop into for a quick, no-fuss pint or a hearty breakfast deal. From what I've gathered chatting about it, it's got that reliable, affordable charm that makes it a go-to for anyone watching their spending; you can snag a decent meal or a round without it costing a fortune, and the cosy, warm atmosphere is just right for catching up with mates. The unlimited coffee with breakfast is a lovely bonus if you're starting your day there. But, let's be straight, it's not all smooth sailing – some folks have had run-ins with staff who seem a bit off their game, and the food can sometimes fall short, like ending up with eggs that are more rubber than runny or finding that what you fancied isn't even available. Still, if you're up for overlooking the odd hiccup in exchange for those budget-friendly prices, it could be a solid choice for a casual get-together. Overall, it's worth giving it a try, but maybe keep your expectations in check for the finer details.

Went there as I was spending a few days in London with my sons (12&15) on a budget. The first evening the man behind the bar was extremely grumpy- hardly had any time for me at all- pretty rude. The man serving our meal was lovely. The next night we just went for two drinks. Me and my sons were playing cards when a member of the staff walked up and demanded to see ID. When I asked why he said that under 18s weren’t allowed after 9pm and said we needed to leave. This was around 9:10. We had no warning that under 18s weren’t allowed after 9. It was really embarrassing as we quickly packed up and left. I actually complained before I left with my sons. Not expecting ‘fine dine’ from Wetherspoons but a bit of decent hospitality. Luckily the guys at Cross Kebabs were kind. Will not come back to your pub again.
If u want someone to badly cook eggs, you come to the right place.
Never had food items in stock. So it pops luck if you get fed.
The chef an expert at overcooked eggs it's their speciality. Food always served best cooked.
Staff have an attitude problem. When you complain about the food. No customer service when they make a mistake.
I think if you alcoholic that what the pub caters to. Don't waste your time and money getting any food items. Save yourself the borther.
Was give minus one star but no opinion for that.
Would definitely recommend this place. Its a lovely pub, very comfortable, nice and warm. The staff are nice and friendly. Only had breakfast there and it was lovely. Very nice coffee machine, breakfast is a great deal with unlimited coffee. A wonderful place.
Absolutely disgusting service today. First of all when I walked in it smelt like fish and wee it was horrible. Then we ordered food as a group if 12 and personally I got a coke and they got alcohol they was then asked for ID which is understandable. However I was then asked for ID for a coke?? Absolutely not the food was cold and chucked on the table when they brought it . They didn’t speak to us just chucked the food down and walked off. The pizza we ordered came on a wrap , poorly presented and cold. The chips were hard. The tables around us are dirty and have been for over an hour now, it then came to 21:00 and we was all asked for ID as people under 18 have to leave but there are babies running around?? another member of staff then came over with the same attitude demanding ID saying we will get chucked out. We then explained that the other member of staff was rude and to be honest the attitude was the exact same which was not suprising at all. They then removed our table of off table service and are now refusing to serve us . It’s their staff with the attitude quite funny if I do say so myself
Busy service on a Friday afternoon but the food still wasn't delayed for two long. Good crispy batter on the large portion of fish. The mayo had a split, off look to it, but it's not the pub's fault as the bottle I had wasn't opened before, it was sealed. I kept away from it anyway. Other than that, all good.
