About This Pub
So, I've been having a look at Coach & Horses, and it's got that classic pub charm that's just right for a casual get-together with mates. The food stands out as a real highlight – think flawless tapas served piping hot and mains that leave you scraping the plate clean; it's clear folks love the flavours and authenticity. The team there are dead friendly too, always up for making things easy, especially if you've got the little ones in tow, and the location's spot on with parking and outdoor areas for a bit of fresh air. On the flip side, some dishes do come with a hefty price tag, and the seating's nothing fancy – it's basic and might not be ideal for lingering over drinks. Plus, there are a couple of rules, like the minimum tapas order, that could rub some the wrong way if you're not in the mood for it. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good meal and a chat, but it's worth going in with your eyes open to those minor niggles.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely top-notch, with unique and authentic dishes like bubbling tapas and exquisite mains that really hit the spot.
-
The staff are lovely and welcoming, especially with families and kids, making it a great place for a relaxed outing.
-
It's conveniently located with plenty of parking and outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a meal when the weather's nice.
Cons
-
Some menu items, like the steaks, can be a bit on the pricey side, which might put off those watching their wallet.
-
The seating is pretty basic and straightforward, as it's an old pub setup, so it's not the most comfortable for a long sit.
-
There are a few rules that can feel a tad restrictive, such as needing to order a minimum of tapas dishes, which doesn't suit everyone.

First time I have eaten here.
The food was unique, although some of the menu was beyond expensive( mainly the steaks)
The comfort of the table and chairs were basic, but being an ex-pub, you make of it what you will.
The service was OK. I say OK because the waitress was just completing a 12 hour shift.
(I know how it feels)
Overall, this is a thoroughly recommended if eaten on the odd occasion.
Will I eat there again?
Absolutely....
Coach and Horses, Crossbrook Street, also known as El Curiso, is conveniently situated in Cheshunt It has a small car park at the rear, but there is plenty of on street parking in neighbouring roads. I chose it because they offer an outside dining space. This area includes an adjacent cafe/tapas bar. The outside areas can be a little noisy, because of the main road. I had to ask the waitress to clean the table, but she did this very efficiently and willingly. The meal was tasty and very reasonable (£7.95) on the Eat Out to help out scheme.
Was a little disappointed about a silly weekend rule which stated that anybody ordering tapas must order a minimum of 3 tapas dishes. We are not big eaters and two of us were kids. I get a little annoyed by these rules. We just want to eat an amount we are comfortable eating! Why do chefs assume we are all large people who haven't eaten for weeks? We had to order a extra food which we didn't really need. However the food was excellent.
Wow can't believe we haven't found this restaurant years ago.The tapas we ordered was flawless served still bubbling on skillets the chicken livers is to die for , the calamari and chorizo authentic, the shredded beef and potato exquisite, mains were all astounding ,our party of 4 all had clean plates, I recommend the fajitas .
The service was not too slow and not to fast just right not pushy or too laid back .
Bare in mind the restaurant was reasonably quiet.
Think I will make this establishment a regular night out every month.
Great food and always very friendly. They are great with the kids. I've had work do' s there too. I'm booked to go again next week. Can't wait. Plenty of tables on 2 floors.
