About This Pub

So, chatting about The Roman Urn in Cheshunt, it's one of those local pubs that really hits the mark for a relaxed evening out. From what I've seen in the reviews, it's got this tidy, welcoming feel that makes you want to pop in regularly – Andrew raved about it being perfect for sports with all those TVs, and Ian enjoyed the good service and a decent pint of Guinness. The beer garden sounds like a real treat too, especially when the weather's on your side. But, let's be honest, it's not all sunshine; there are a couple of downsides that've left a bad taste for some. That old 'regulars only' sign put Charles right off before he even stepped inside, and Chris had some dodgy experiences with the owners being a bit rude and possibly bending the rules. Still, with a solid 4.4 rating overall, most folks seem to have a good time, so if you're heading that way, I'd say give it a go but keep your wits about you – it's got plenty of charm, just watch for the occasional hiccup.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax and feel at home.
  • Staff are superb and provide excellent service, always ready with a smile and a helping hand.
  • Plenty of TVs around for catching all the sporting action, ideal if you're up for watching the match.
  • They've got a lovely beer garden that's perfect for enjoying a pint outdoors on a nice day.
  • Pours a good pint, like a solid Guinness, which keeps things enjoyable for a casual drink.
Cons
  • That 'regulars only' sign has put some people off, making it feel a bit exclusive and unwelcoming for newcomers.
  • A few mentions of rude behaviour from the owners, which can spoil the experience if you're unlucky.
  • Reports of illegal goings-on, like the owners drinking behind the bar, which doesn't sit right.
  • Some folks have felt they've been ripped off, so it's worth keeping an eye on your tab.

Tidy, nice, welcoming pub in Cheshunt. Worth a visit or just be a regularly. Plenty of tvs for all sporting occasions. Superb staff and a pleasure to visit. So many pubs are gone. This one isn't going anywhere 👌🏻👍🏻

Lovely Pub, Friendly Staff, nice atmosphere, music not too loud, they have a lovely beer garden, enquired about the sign in the window about "regular customers only" was told it was a old sign which they removed after we asked them about it

I would have gone in had it not been for the sign saying ‘regulars only’. It might be a really great pub but I’m never going to get the chance to find out.

The bar owners drink behind the bar which is illegal and quite frankly I think they are rude. They have ripped me off a few times. Altough atmosphere is tremendously friendly.
