After the pub changed hands at the end of summer last year it has become a top spot in the area. Inclusive and vibrant atmosphere, clean tables and facilities, and lovely helpful staff who are almost always a pleasure to chat with. You’ll never find just one group or community here; the customer base is extremely diverse which makes for a great experience and all-round vibe. To top it all off the Iberian House are consistently cooking up a storm down in the kitchen, serving brilliant and affordable food up until 10pm every night.
I went here for a friend's birthday recently and the place is so much better now with new ownership and staff! Liam behind the bar was very attentive and friendly, and the food was incredible too - shout out to Marco in the kitchen. Definitely recommend going here, 10/10 venue.
Since the new owners took over in summer 2024 i rarely drink in other pubs in leith. The Mash Tun is my new go to - from the new decor to the friendly staff and to the fun nights they put on.
The food is also really good. I especially love the smash tun burger!

Having seen this place change hands, its clear the new owners care immensely about making the customer feel valued. Great new paintjob, VERY friendly and helpful staff, and the chef whips up an Iberian-tinged storm for the menu. We had the signature burgers and padron peppers, which even on a busy Spanish-themed music night, arrived fast. Will 100% be returning!
Love the new menu. Tried the soup, absolutely lovely. The croquettes are amazing! Will be back very soon!
