About This Pub

Ah, The Market Ale House – what a gem it is for anyone who appreciates a good pint in a welcoming setting. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place really shines with its excellent range of cask ales and other tipples; they're always mixing things up to keep it interesting, and the prices are spot on for a relaxed evening. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's sorted, which adds to that warm, community feel. Then there's the atmosphere – it's electric when they've got live music or artists performing, and the outdoor seating is a nice touch for when you fancy a breather. But, let's be straight, it's not perfect; there's no food available, so if you're peckish, you might need to plan ahead. And it does get chocka at peak times, which can make it a squeeze if you're after a quiet one. All in all, I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – just go with the flow and you'll have a brilliant time.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Friendly and helpful staff who make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • Brilliant atmosphere, especially when there's live music or bands playing – it's buzzing and full of energy.
  • Decent outdoor seating area, perfect for a sunny day or when things get a bit lively inside.
  • Reasonable prices that won't break the bank, making it a great spot for a casual night out.
Cons
  • No food on offer, so you'll have to pop elsewhere if you're after a proper meal with your pint.
  • It can get really busy at times, especially with events on, which might make it feel a tad overcrowded.

No food served. Good cask ales, price bearable, some good artists on, then gets chokka.

Good place for a drink they had a band on when we visited so the place was busy but there was a great atmosphere. The staff are helpful and friendly and there's plenty of drinks to choose from. There's also a small amount of outdoor seating which helps when very busy. Would recommend a visit 😁

This is a great little bar on the high street in Leyland. Lots of seating, a nice little outdoor area also. Lots of ales to choose from and some very interesting spirits. Definitely a place to go.

Easily the best drinking establishment in Leyland. Excellent selection of ales. Regularly rotated. Brilliant atmosphere with cracking friendly staff. The music they put on is brilliant as well. A selection of ages and always busy and vibrant. We love the place 💕
