About This Pub

Ah, The Bobbin Mill – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a breath of fresh air in Buckshaw Village, Chorley. I've got to say, what really stands out is the warm, welcoming vibe; the staff go out of their way to make sure everything's spot on, and the food is genuinely excellent – think hearty pub classics, delicious Sunday roasts, and even pizzas made fresh right in front of you. Those special offers, like 30% off mains, are an absolute treat and make it feel like you're getting a bargain without skimping on quality. The pub garden is perfect for a sunny afternoon with mates, and it's got that family-friendly charm that lets everyone relax. On the flip side, though, service isn't always consistent; you might bump into a staff member who's a bit off their game, which can take the edge off an otherwise great visit. Plus, some dishes could use a bit more flair in how they're presented, and it's not uncommon for things to be a tad quiet or for the odd item to come out not quite right, like overcooked bits. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out or a family meal – just keep those little niggles in mind, and you'll have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is top-notch with a great selection of pub classics, Sunday roasts, and even a pizza kitchen where you can watch it being made; plus, those offers like 30% off mains make it brilliant value.
  • It's a proper family-friendly spot with a welcoming atmosphere, a cosy pub garden for sunny days, and plenty of space for kids to enjoy themselves.
  • The pub's got a modern vibe and is kept clean, which really adds to the overall experience, especially for a relaxed meal out.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit hit or miss at times, with some staff seeming a tad grumpy, which might put a damper on things.
  • A few dishes lack that extra touch in presentation, like a simple panini that could do with a bit more garnish to make it feel special.
  • It's sometimes a bit quiet, especially earlier in the day, so it might not have that lively buzz you're after on a night out.
  • There have been occasional slip-ups with food, such as overcooked items, which is a shame when the rest is so good.

We were a party of 16 but made separate family orders to keep it simple. The staff were great, food came out together, eating area was clean. Overall great visit 👍

We have been to other Marston pubs and had better service , the was one waiter who looks grumpy all the time the lady who was serving behind the bar was ok , I always find the food good value especially when the is 30%off , my brother ordered a mega grill and they over cooked the onion rings and he didn't have any chicken so he went and asked at the bar but the was no one there so he tried to get back to his meal before it started to get cold he did eventually get the chicken. I had chicken pie I was expecting the pastry to be firmer thought taste was ok my other brother had a steak pie to he put gravy on his

Amazing food. Charlotte and janine were so helpful and the atmosphere of the pub was amazing. Had the sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly, my partner had the steak and ale pie and throughly enjoyed it. Will be coming again soon. The 30% of main offer is a really good deal and takes quite a bit off at the end. Lots of choice in drinks

A massive thankyou to Mike and his team today. We used the Bobbin Mill today to host our daughters birthday party. Mike went above and beyond to make sure we had everything in place on our arrival. Food also provided by the team which was loved by everyone. The pub has such a great amount of space to host a party !! Thanks guys
