About This Pub

Ah, The Lumbertubs – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a reliable old mate, you know? Tucked away in Boothville, it's a quick drive from Northampton and surrounded by green spaces, making it ideal for a laid-back afternoon or evening out. From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, the staff really shine; they're polite, helpful sorts who make you feel right at home, whether it's sorting out a table or recommending a dish. The grub is spot on too – think hearty steaks and ribs that leave you satisfied, all at prices that won't break the bank, with some cracking deals if you time it right. It's brilliant for families or if you're keen on watching the footie or rugby; they've got the big events covered with Sky Sports and all. On the downside, it does get a bit quiet at times, which is lovely for a proper natter but might feel a smidge dull if you're hoping for a lively crowd. All things considered, it's a solid choice for a no-nonsense pint and meal, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just keep an eye on those opening hours to plan ahead.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, welcoming, and ready to go the extra mile, making every visit feel personal and enjoyable.
  • The food is a real highlight, with dishes like the slow-roasted beef rib and steaks that are packed with flavour and served at fair prices, plus some great deals on offer.
  • It's a proper family-friendly spot with heaps of amenities, including parking, EV charging, and being dog-friendly, so it's easy to pop in with the whole gang.
  • They've got live sports on the go, like the Women's Euros or rugby tours, which makes it a cracking place to catch a match with a pint in hand.
Cons
  • It can be a bit on the quiet side sometimes, which is nice for a relaxed chat but might not hit the spot if you're after a more buzzing atmosphere.
  • The menu sticks to classic pub grub, so if you're in the mood for something a tad more adventurous or upscale, you might find it a bit straightforward.

Very friendly staff. Really good service and choice available. Cocktails were tried beings as we were informed they were on offer. We didn't know. Really good. Delicious steak that tasted like beef! Ribs fell off the bone. All excellent

This is a pleasant pub where you can get a good meal at a reasonable price. There are different offers on different days so check ahead if you have a particular preference. There is parking at the front and back, and electric charging points too.
