About This Pub
Ah, The Lord Barrington, what a gem of a pub tucked away in Stakeford. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that warm, homely feel where the staff and locals make you feel like part of the gang straight away – think smiles, chats, and that proper pub atmosphere you don't find everywhere these days. The pints are a highlight, with folks going on about the John Smith's being the best around, and the homemade pizzas add a lovely twist for when you're peckish. Plus, with the pool table and dart board, it's spot on for a bit of fun without any fuss. On the flip side, it's only open from 3pm, which might rule it out for a lunchtime pint, and without a website or easy way to get info, you might end up winging it a bit. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after a no-nonsense spot to unwind, but it could use a few more updates to really draw in the crowds. I'd say give it a go if you're in the area – it's got that charm that makes a simple visit feel special.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff and regulars are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in – it's just like chatting with mates down the local.
-
Prices are spot on and reasonable, so you won't break the bank for a good pint or a bite.
-
It's got all the classic pub vibes with a pool table and dart board, perfect for a bit of friendly competition after a few drinks.
-
They serve up homemade fresh oven-baked pizzas that sound absolutely delicious – a nice touch for when you're after something more than just a drink.
-
The pints are top-notch, especially the John Smith's, which folks rave about as the best in the area.
Cons
-
The opening hours are a bit limited, just from 3pm to 11pm every day, so it's not ideal if you're looking for a spot earlier in the day.
-
There's no website or phone number listed, which makes it tricky to check what's on or get in touch if you fancy popping by.
-
With only a handful of reviews out there, it might not be the most buzzing place, and it's unclaimed online, so it could do with a bit more attention to shine brighter.

This has now become my local. Popped in for swift pint on a afternoon (after 3pm) and on Sundays. Staff really friendly as are the regulars. Prices are also very reasonable. Good to see a pub with pool table and dart board. A proper pub. How they should be.
