About This Pub
Oh, the Foresters Arms is one of those hidden gems that just makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. I've heard from folks who've been there that the food is spot on – think hearty Sunday roasts with proper homemade touches and portions that'll keep you going for hours, all at prices that won't dent your wallet. The staff are dead welcoming, and the overall vibe is just lovely for a good natter, though it's more the sort of place where you'd find a mature crowd enjoying a quiet pint rather than a bustling night out. On the flip side, it's a tad frustrating that there's no website to check things like the menu or opening hours, and food might not always be available every day, so it's worth planning ahead. All in all, with that solid reputation backing it up, it's well worth a visit if you're after a genuine, no-fuss pub experience – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely brilliant, especially their homemade Sunday lunches that are packed with flavour and feel like a proper home-cooked meal.
-
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and a convivial vibe that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up over a pint.
-
Portion sizes are generous, leaving you feeling well satisfied without breaking the bank, as it's quite affordable.
-
It's open every day from midday, making it easy to pop in for a quick drink or a bite whenever the mood strikes.
Cons
-
There's no website or much online presence, so it can be a bit of a faff to get the latest details on menus or events before you head over.
-
It seems more tailored to a mature crowd, so if you're after a lively spot with a younger vibe, it might not quite hit the mark.
-
Food options could be limited on certain days, like Mondays, as they don't always serve it then, which might catch you out if you're planning a meal.

Very friendly. Lovely food. Proper home made Sunday lunch. Portion size really good. Will definitely return.
First visit was pot luck and I'm so pleased that I found it. Beer, landlord and customers together came together to make for a easant and convivial atmosphere. More for the mature than the youth.

Food absolutely beautiful. Our top pub for Sunday dinner. Thank you Jim and Sue 100 % as always
Won a voucher in a raffle for two sunday dinners at the Foresters Arms. Had never been before so didn't know what to expect. The food was amazing, really good home made dinner served by the owner. Fantastic pub. Would definitely recommend going.
I hadn't been in here for 35 years and the transformation is amazing. We went with 2 friends. Our church joined us. They don't usually serve food on a Monday but made an exception. Anything on the special menu £7.95. I ordered chicken bites with chips and peas, pure chicken breast in a batter, (chicken nuggets). I couldn't eat it all. Was fantastic. Hubby ordered the burger and our friends ordered the giant Yorkshire pud filled with mince and scampi. Everything was well presented and there were no complaints. 2 of us then had sticky toffee pudding with custard. This was so light and delicious. Staff were so friendly. Our vicar even played the piano. We will be going back regularly
