About This Pub

Ah, The Liffey Irish Bar, tucked away on Renshaw Street in Liverpool – it's one of those places that just feels like a second home the moment you walk in. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the pints of Guinness are nothing short of legendary; people are going on about how it's the best they've tasted this side of the Irish Sea, and that alone is enough to draw you in for a visit. The staff really shine too – they're attentive and make you feel welcome, whether it's letting you pour your own pint or just having a laugh with you at the bar. Then there's the live music and the setup for watching footie; multiple screens and a projector mean it's ideal for game days, and the tunes add a fun, energetic vibe without being over the top. On the flip side, it can get a bit noisy with the singer belting out numbers, which might make it hard to have a proper chinwag with your mates, especially if you're after a quiet catch-up. And if you drop by during quieter times, like a lazy Saturday afternoon, it might not have that full-on pub atmosphere just yet. All in all, with a solid 4.3 rating from heaps of reviews, it's a winner for anyone looking for a genuine, enjoyable night out – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, but maybe plan around the music if you're in the mood for a mellow evening.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The Guinness here is absolutely spot on – several folks rave about it being the best they've had, making it a must-try for any ale enthusiast.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming; from attentive barmen to landlords who let you pour your own pint, it's all about that personal touch.
  • Live Irish music and entertainment add a lively buzz – not too overwhelming, and it's perfect for a singalong or just soaking in the atmosphere.
  • Brilliant for catching a Liverpool game with multiple screens and a big projector, so you won't miss a moment of the action.
  • The overall vibe is warm and inviting, with great service that makes you feel right at home, even if you're just popping in for a quick one.
Cons
  • The live music can get a tad loud at times, which might make it tricky to chat with mates without raising your voice.
  • It can feel a bit quiet during off-peak hours, like early afternoons, so the atmosphere might not always be buzzing as you'd hope.

Stopped in while doing some shopping for a couple of pints of Guinness. The hot barman was very attentive. Came in later that night and saw some great live Irish music. Would definitely go back again!

All was ok. There was a singer who was good, and a bit loud so hearing each other was a challenge, but that's me being picky. My visit was early Saturday afternoon so there weren't many people in the bar for me to comment much on the atmosphere. Service was.great, no complaints at all. We found a table outside which was nice on a sunny day.

An awesome spot to watch a good Liverpool game. Many screens including a big one with a projector. Cool live music, not too intrusive. Great cold Guinness and a welcoming smile from the lady behind the counter. Look no further.
