About This Pub

Ah, The Swan Inn – it's one of those pubs that really captures that old-school charm, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's a gem for anyone who loves a bit of rock music; the jukebox is packed with classics that bring back fond memories and get the crowd buzzing. The beers are spot on, well-kept and inexpensive, making it a top pick for a casual catch-up with friends. It's got this relaxed, friendly vibe that's perfect for a good chat and a laugh, and with multiple floors, there's plenty of space to find your spot. On the downside, it's a tad grubby in places and could use a spruce-up – the wear and tear is noticeable, and the toilets are honestly not up to scratch, which might put some folks off. Plus, with just bar snacks on offer, it's not the place for a full meal, so you'd want to plan ahead if you're peckish. All in all, if you're after an authentic rock pub experience in Liverpool, it's worth a visit, but go in with realistic expectations – it's the heart and soul that shines through, rough edges and all.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The jukebox is an absolute belter, packed with rock classics that get everyone in the mood for a singalong
  • They've got a solid selection of well-kept beers, perfect for a relaxing pint without breaking the bank
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, especially if you're into rock music – it's a great spot for a laid-back hangout
  • It's surprisingly spacious with multiple floors, giving you room to spread out and enjoy the vibe
  • Prices are inexpensive, making it an easy choice for a casual night out with mates
Cons
  • The place looks a bit worn out and grubby, which takes away from the overall experience
  • The toilets are in a right state – definitely not the highlight of a visit
  • Food options are limited to just bar snacks, so you might need to head elsewhere for a proper meal
  • It feels dated in places and could do with a bit of a makeover to freshen things up

I love the Swan, albeit through rose tinted glasses. It still has the best jukebox in the city. The beer selection is good and typically well kept. However, the place I undeniably grubby and looks worse for wear. The toilets are a third-world affair. Yet, on random nights, music and conversation come together with an eclectic mix of customers to make an experience unavailable anywhere else.

Nice pint of Wobbly Bob which made me happy. Place could do with a makeover but I appreciate that it's more of a bikers bar. A lot bigger than you think with a first floor bar aswell as a third floor seating area.

Top little rock pub, a definate dying breed. They don't do food apart from bar snacks but the clientele are relaxed, the jukebox has many an old classic and brings back fond memories of the upstairs rock nights of my yoof! Always visit when we're in the city.

No food. But amazing place. Rock pub. Amazing jukebox. Great hangout. Suitable for all ages who like the heavier music.

A good rock pub is a dying breed. Very happy to discover one that's still going strong. Good beer, friendly bar staff, an old-school jukebox where you still get to put five Rammstein tracks on for a quid. What more do you want?
