About This Pub

Ah, The Celtic Corner—it's one of those places in Liverpool that really captures the essence of an Irish pub, isn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it with others, the live music is the star of the show; it's energetic and gets you in the mood to dance or just soak up the vibe with a pint in hand. The space is generous too, so whether you're up for a boogie or fancy settling in for a chat and maybe a game of pool, there's room for everyone. It's spot on for watching the footie or enjoying a good beer, and those late hours make it perfect for a proper night out. On the flip side, though, the staff don't always go the extra mile to make you feel at home—they're efficient enough, but you might miss that friendly banter you'd expect. And the door team can be a bit off-putting at times, which is a shame because it could sour the start of your evening. Overall, it's a solid choice for a fun gathering, but keeping expectations realistic about the service will make for a better experience. If you're a fan of Irish tunes and a lively crowd, give it a go, but maybe pop in with a group to keep the good times rolling.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The live music is absolutely brilliant—it's got that real Irish spirit that gets everyone up and dancing, making for a fantastic night out.
  • It's a spacious venue with plenty of room to either shake a leg on the dance floor or find a cosy spot to relax and chat.
  • They've got a great selection of beers and a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with mates or watching a match on the telly.
  • The pub stays open late, which is ideal if you're in the mood for an evening that stretches into the early hours.
  • It's got that authentic Irish feel with songs that just make you want to sing along, especially if you've got a bit of Irish heritage yourself.
Cons
  • The staff aren't always the chattiest; they get the job done, but you might not feel that extra warm welcome you'd hope for in a pub.
  • The door staff could do with being a bit more friendly—sometimes they come across as a tad abrupt, which puts a slight dampener on arriving.
  • From what I've heard, it's not the most engaging service overall, so if you're after that personal touch, it might fall a bit short.

We were just there on a Fri & a Sat evening in Jan 2025, a great bar! Plenty of space and seating, live top quality music, great spot to watch a match and a pool table. Staff not to engaging but done there job well but the door men were just ignorant with regards to saying hello etc but that's their inner problem i left them at the door as i walked in. But overall it's a great spot and i would highly recommend.

This place was bouncing on a Sunday when I arrived around 1800 til 3am the songs I know so well I didn’t mind it was like a free open live concert from my hotel room which I didn’t mind one bit so I called round during the day time for a bit Christy Moore blasting out just great I bet this place is fantastic on a match day or Celtic v sevco it’s just brilliant the lay out the selection of screens the bar staff not a problem service was good I seen a few people complain but was grand then there’s the Celtic corner like stage then open windows let’s a nice breeze in also outside seating areas I could sit ere all day or night a great mixture of music Irish n pop music it’s got a real good mixture plus the seating arrangement is good with a pool table away from the bar plenty of space . The bar staff on her own seems to be doing a great job has the pub starting to get busy but she has it all under control plus the pub smells fine it’s clean n tidy so they definitely keep on top of that had it was rammed last night so credit where credit is due there’s also an upstairs not sure if that is open or opens at certain times but no complaints from me at all it’s just an all round decent pub in a great location.
