About This Pub
Ah, The King's Arms – it's one of those local pubs in Birmingham that just feels like a second home, doesn't it? Tucked away in King's Heath, it's all about that strong foodie vibe with pub favourites mixed in with treats like curries and all-day breakfasts, and the weekly offers make it dead easy on the wallet. I love how the staff are always up for a chat and will even tweak your order to make it just right, paired with those top-notch Davenports ales and a bit of live sport to liven things up. It's a brilliant spot for a casual meal or a pint with friends, especially if you're after good value and a relaxed atmosphere. But, to be fair, it's not perfect – some folks have had issues with food not being piping hot or turning out a bit dry, which can put a dampener on the experience. Still, with most people raving about it, I'd say it's worth a visit; just keep your expectations in check and you'll likely have a smashing time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty pub classics, stacked burgers, and authentic curries that hit the spot every time, with options like an all-day breakfast to keep you going.
-
Fantastic value for money with those weekly deals, like two meals for £15 on weekdays or a burger and pint for just £12 on Tuesdays – perfect for a budget-friendly night out.
-
The staff are so friendly and welcoming; they go out of their way to make you feel at home, even tailoring dishes to your liking if you ask nicely.
-
You've got award-winning Davenports ales at reasonable prices, plus happy hours and live sport on the telly, making it a cracking spot for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
-
It's got a great atmosphere in the heart of King's Heath, with a recent refurb that makes the place look fresh and inviting.
Cons
-
Food quality can be a bit hit or miss; some reviews mentioned meals not being hot enough or things like dry bread and chewy chicken, which is a shame when the rest is so good.
-
As it's unclaimed by the owners, it might not get the same level of attention or updates as other spots, potentially leading to the occasional slip-up in service or consistency.
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what's listed, with varying closing times, so it's worth double-checking before heading out to avoid any disappointment.

Just added some jalepenos and hot sauce as a dip! For £15 with onion rings and a pint!!
Old McDonald better get a new job as well because this is the Daddy Mac of all burgers!!
When they say "Less is More!" Well none of that fancy Salt Bae shite here!
Tasty seasoned beef, creamy cheesy sauce, the basics in a brioche bun with a few sides!!! A chef's kiss and then some...
Now time to go home and breathe this meal out....🤪
Do yourself a favour and get the daily specials. So very clearly made from scratch in house. I had a Caribbean lamb stew and it was delicious. Under 15 quid for two bottles of beer and a big plate of homemade food!
Staff here are all lovely as well. Decent beer, lovely food, low prices and friendly faces. Big fan of this place.
Supported two service users for pub lunch, we had the fish and chips and one had the all day breakfast. Food was absolutely lovely, staff were friendly and the pub looks great after the refurb 😊 will definitely be returning!
Mid afternoon meals and a pint each . 2 out of 3 meals were hot. Bread served with meal, was dry, so requested replacement. 1 meal was excellent, but the second meal, chicken was dry and very chewy, thinking it had been under the heat lamp for a long time, should have took it back but would have waited another half hour. First time here since the pub changed hands, but initial thoughts "Must do better", 1 meal 9/10. 2nd meal 6/10 Third meal was Korma curry rice and chips 7/10. Rice and chips were warm but not as hot as expected, although the main curry was fairly hot to touch. Postives: friendly staff, and special offers, otherwise quite pricey. Negatives, food not their speciality, slow with meals, suggest it's better as a beer and sports bar only minus food... READ OTHER FOOD REVIEWS..

Never been here before but was shopping in kings heath and thought, 'why not?'. Glad I did, had the veg lasagne which was amazing, 2 ciders which were very nice. The staff were great. Sports channels were on if you're into that. Well worth a visit.
