About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Kings Arms – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot in all the right ways. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute legends, always up for a laugh and making sure you feel welcome, which is just what you want after a long day. The beer selection is top-notch too; they've got a brilliant range of real ales and lagers that would make any beer enthusiast smile. And if you're into sports or fancy a quick game of darts, it's got that covered as well, creating a proper lively vibe without it ever feeling overwhelming. It's got a stellar rating, which isn't surprising given the glowing feedback. But, to be fair, there are a couple of things that might put a dampener on things – the opening times look a bit muddled, so you might end up turning up when it's not quite ready for visitors. Plus, with no website to speak of, it's a bit of a faff if you want to check details beforehand, and it seems like it hasn't been as buzzing recently, which could mean it's not as lively as it once was. All in all, though, if you're in the area and fancy a traditional pint in a friendly spot, I'd say give it a go – it's got that genuine pub charm that's hard to beat.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of real ales and beers, perfect for anyone who appreciates a good pint.
  • The atmosphere is spot on – lively, comfortable, and full of good banter, especially if you're up for a chat.
  • It's a great spot for watching sports or having a game of darts, adding to the fun and traditional pub feel.
  • With a solid 4.8 rating from plenty of folks, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a memorable visit.
Cons
  • The operating hours seem a bit confusing and inconsistent, which might make it tricky to plan a visit.
  • There's no website or online presence listed, so it's not always easy to check what's on offer or get in touch.
  • It looks like the place might not be as active lately, with no recent reviews in the last few months, which could mean things have quietened down.

We go there regularly, mainly on a Friday evening. Excellent friendly atmosphere, and always a great selection of real ales to choose from, as well as your regular lagers ect too.

Proper pub with a good selection of beers on offer. Friendly comfortable atmosphere and always made to feel welcome. Sport on the TV and a dart board for those who like to throw some arrows. Absolute Gem of a pub.
