About This Pub
You know, chatting about The Bay Horse feels like sharing tips with mates over a pint – it's got that homely charm that makes you want to come back. I love how the food really shines; whether it's a hearty Sunday lunch or something simple like a panini with fresh salad and homemade coleslaw, it's all about good value without skimping on quality. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and handling the rush with a smile, which adds to the welcoming feel. Plus, being dog-friendly means it's perfect for a casual outing with the family or your pet. On the other hand, it does get packed, especially on busier days, so you might end up queuing for a table or waiting for your order, and that understaffing can make things a bit frustrating. There have been a couple of gripes about the food not always hitting the mark, like when something's overcooked, but they've been quick to sort it out. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening or a meal out – just go in with realistic expectations, and you'll likely have a great time.

Great find while on holiday and would highly recommend to family and friends.
The Sunday lunch was amazing and very good value.
Service was very good and staff helpful.
Friendly welcome from start to finish.
Eat here fairly regularly and the place gets very busy. It’s understaffed so usually have to wait for service but the staff are lovely and do an amazing job. The food is usually good but today I had to complain because my fish was overcooked and inedible. The waiter was very apologetic, took it back and brought a replacement meal, which was fine. Good value for money.
First visit for us, Sat 15 Feb 2025.
We were taken to the Bay Horse by friends. They had been many times before and everything they had told us about it was true.
I can't say much about the exterior as it was night time when we arrived, so not a lot to see.
Inside. really very nice there was a large bar area where you could eat, but as we had booked we were shown into the restaurant. Nicely spaced out and much quieter than the bar.
Once we were settled with a drink we were present with a VERY comprehensive menu. The waitress, actually I think it may have been the owner/manageress, was very friendly and spent a bit of time chatting with us.
There was a good selection of wine at very reasonable prices.
The food arrive quickly and was as ordered and Very Hot.
all in all we had a very enjoyable evening and will be back when we are on our next visit.
I hope then to be able to see the outside of the place as I believe there is much more to the Bay Horse that just the pub.
Thanks to all who made it an enjoyable night for us..
Great pub. Friendly staff and very pleasant surroundings. Good food at a very reasonable price. Dog friendly as well... What's not to like?
I had a steak panini and chips, which came with a lovely fresh salad and homemade coleslaw. The pub was very busy and the staff were run off their feet but they were still lovely, friendly and helpful. This pub is definitely value for money and I will be returning 👍
