About This Pub
Ah, The King Arthur – what a gem of a pub it is, tucked away in Hagley. From what I've gathered from the reviews and a bit of digging, it's got that classic Black Country charm with Bathams' legendary brews that just hit the spot every time. The staff are proper lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything's just right, which really adds to the homely atmosphere. It's brilliant for families or if you've got the dog along, as they're more than welcoming. Prices are fair too, so you won't feel short-changed after a few rounds. On the flip side, the food's nothing fancy – think simple cobs and snacks rather than a hearty dinner – and being in a quieter spot, it might not suit if you're after a raucous night out. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed catch-up over a quality pint, and with such high ratings, I'd say it's well worth seeking out for a proper pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer is absolutely top-notch, especially Bathams Bitter – it's a real treat and always in perfect condition.
-
Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's super kid-friendly and dog-friendly, so it's a great spot for families or if you're out with your furry mate.
-
The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, with a real sense of history that makes every visit feel special.
-
Prices are spot on for a good pint, offering brilliant value without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
Food options are a bit basic, mostly just cobs and snacks, so if you're after a full meal, you might need to look elsewhere.
-
It's in a quiet Worcestershire village, which is charming but could feel a tad sleepy if you're hoping for a lively, buzzing crowd.

Popped in when we happened to be in the area with a spare hour.. had a couple of pints and cobs. Staff were friendly and pub was kid friendly and dog friendly. Fussed a couple of dogs. Beer was lovely. Toilets were very clean. Overall I was impressed.
Really friendly local. Well run and serving the best beer anywhere, at the best prices, anywhere.
Ought to be many many more this good.
Nice pub with friendly customers and bar staff, the regular beer is by Bathams brewery and was in top condition, easy walking distance of the railway station.
Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Great beer on tap and selection of cobs and snacks.
Great bar, good location and even staff that still recognised us after not seen her for over 2 years. Prises compared to the Netherlands are cheap and the beers are wonderful. Absolutely one to visit.
