About This Pub
Ah, the Station Inn in Stourbridge – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, the food is a standout; those jacket potatoes and other dishes come out piping hot with loads of tasty toppings, and it's all served up with a smile from the team behind the bar, who seem genuinely chuffed to have you there. It's brilliant for catching up with mates over a pint, especially if you're into sports – they've got the big games on, creating that buzz of excitement without it feeling overwhelming. On the flip side, it can get a bit lively during peak times, and the opening hours aren't always crystal clear, which might leave you scratching your head if you're popping by on a whim. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, offering great value and a homely feel, but it's worth checking ahead to make sure it fits your plans – honest word, it's got that balance of charm and character that makes it worth a visit if you're in the area.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is spot on – think delicious jacket potatoes, nachos, and hearty meals that really hit the spot, with plenty of options and generous portions.
-
Staff are an absolute delight; they're friendly, efficient, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
-
It's a cracking spot for sports fans, with live coverage of matches on Sky Sports and TNT, perfect for cheering on your team in a lively atmosphere.
-
Being dog-friendly means you can pop in with your furry friend, and the overall vibe is warm and inviting, ideal for a casual catch-up.
-
Prices are reasonable, so you won't break the bank for a good pint and a bite to eat.
Cons
-
The operating hours can be a tad confusing at times, with the website sometimes showing it as closed when you might expect it open, which could put a dampener on spontaneous visits.
-
It might get a bit too bustling during big events or match days, making it hard to find a quiet corner if you're after a relaxed evening.
-
Being a sports-focused pub, it might not suit everyone if you're not into the footie or if you prefer something a bit more low-key.
-
The location in Hagley is lovely, but it could be out of the way for those not in the Stourbridge area, so planning a trip might take a bit of effort.

Jacket potato’s are ace, With great service from Alex. Food always looks good. Drinks are also great by the bar staff. Especially Nathan and Emily
I visited The Station Inn yesterday lunch time. The food was fantastic. There was an old fashioned steam roller outside serving Jacket potatoes and Nachos. The food was piping hot and lots of choice of toppings. There's plenty of free parking. The pub staff are welcoming and accommodating. The atmosphere was happy and warm. I am definitely going to visit regularly. A top notch pub. Well done.
I don’t come to Hagley very often, but when I do this is the pub I always pop into. Bar staff are lovely and efficient, and overall atmosphere is very nice. But what keeps me coming back is the food. You won’t find better in the area, the selection, portion size and quality are amazing. Highly recommend getting the Carolina hold sauce with anything, it’s delicious! Great place and can’t recommend enough:)
We saw the menu on line and after recently visiting Vegas I was excited to try the food.
We turned up on a Tuesday night and there was a nice atmosphere. Other customers and the staff were all very friendly with the staff being very professional. We both ordered the Chicken with fries. We also ordered a few sides, Coleslaw, Onion rings and Corn on the cob. The food was amazing. Chicken was succulent and everything else was perfect. I think this could be a monthly visit.
Brilliant friendly experience .dog friendly can not fault the place at all
