About This Pub
You know, when I popped into the Lyttelton Arms, it really gave off that warm, traditional country pub feel that's hard to beat in the West Midlands. The staff are just lovely – always on hand without hovering, like how one reviewer raved about their server Paige making the day special. The food's another winner; think fresh, seasonal options that cover everything from a quick bite to a full-on feast, and it's clear from the feedback that it's spot-on for groups or even a romantic meal. That outdoor area is a gem too, especially on a sunny afternoon, giving you a proper escape right in the heart of Hagley. But, on the downside, it's not the cheapest spot around – some dishes come with a hefty price tag that might leave you thinking twice, and if it's a busy night, things can drag a bit with the service. Still, with all that positive buzz, it's a solid choice for a laid-back catch-up with mates, as long as you're prepared for the occasional hiccup.
Pros and Cons

-
The food is a real treat, with fresh, seasonal dishes that hit the spot, whether it's a light lunch or a proper roast.
-
It's got a charming atmosphere with stylish decor and a lovely outdoor seating area that's perfect for soaking up the sun on a summer day.
-
Plenty of parking and a welcoming vibe for families, making it easy for a relaxed get-together with the kids.
-
Overall, it's a reliable spot for all sorts of occasions, from casual drinks to celebrations, backed by that consistently positive feedback.
Cons
-
Some menu items can feel a bit pricey, like the scallops or lamb dishes, which might not suit tighter budgets.
-
Service can slow down when it's busy, leading to longer waits even if the staff are trying their best.
-
Portion sizes don't always live up to the cost, with a few mentions of meals feeling a tad light on the veg or sides.

Service was top notch, attentive but casual - thanks Paige!! My parents are regulars and shout about how great the food was and this Sunday the beef trio didn't disappoint! The compliment card given at the end is a nice touch, especially if you are a returning customer to know who behind the scenes is making food/ drinks! Alex was the chef, Sam made the drinks and Elsie brought our food. All round great meal
We've visited here a few times now, and have been really pleased each time. The indoors restaurant is superb, and the staff are incredibly attentive. We've had birthday parties and general sunny afternoon drinks.
The outdoor seating area for the summer is brilliant, and has thoughtful smoke free areas that are maintained for families and those who just don't like to be around smoke/vape.
Prices are very reasonable, and the overall experience is more luxurious than your normal pub. Very highly recommended.
On arrival the atmosphere was lovely, our server was polite and attentive but clearly had to watch a lot of tables so service was a bit slow.
Considering the price of the food, I was disappointed. The scallops were excellent but £14 was a bit pricey. £25 for harissa lamb to have barely any veg with it feels very stingy. The quality was good, but I don't expect to feel as though I need to have a dessert because I'm still hungry after two courses.
The chocolate bombe, for £10 was incredibly disappointing. It was so frozen that the hot chocolate pour didn't melt it, I had to really hammer at it with a spoon and to top that off there was PLASTIC IN IT! Our server was unsure what to do until I asked for the dish to be refunded.
On the whole, considering the good reputation of the venue I found the entire experience disappointing, especially because I decided to spend a little more than I usually would on my night out.
First time visit and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who gave us a really spacious table. The decor inside is beautiful & the restaurant was really clean. They have taken steps to ensure that the premises is open to all and is child friendly. Ample parking is available.
Our server was Luca, who was attentive & professional with excellent hospitality skills.
We ordered the butternut squash soup & black & pepper squid (calamari). Both starters were delicious and presented beautifully.
The fish & chips were huge & tasted great. We will be returning in the future.
Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks, the bramble lemonade was refreshing.

Even though we are local, it was our first visit to the pub.
We were very impressed with the pub
Although we hadn’t booked and the pub was very busy the lovely hostess (dark hair and glasses) was very welcoming and found us a table within a few minutes.
We ordered a bottle of wine and 2 mains and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Perfectly cooked and full of flavour.
Our Waitress Tia was very friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough to help.
Watching the other staff everyone seemed very happy and it was a really nice atmosphere to dine in.
Nice selection of wines too.
We will be back.
