About This Pub
Oh, The Greyhound in Enfield is one of those classic pubs that just feels like a hidden gem, you know? From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, the staff are absolute gems – always up for a friendly chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really sets the tone for a great visit. The beers are spot on, especially those local ales they've got on tap, and it's such a bonus that it's dog-friendly, making it ideal for a casual outing with your four-legged mate. The waterside spot adds a lovely touch, with that home-from-home atmosphere, and there's fun to be had with pool, darts, and the odd bit of live music to keep the energy up. On the downside, though, the car park's a bit of a let-down – it's shabby and could do with some TLC, and it seems food isn't reliably on offer, which might leave you hunting for alternatives if you're after a bite. All in all, it's a solid spot for a relaxed pint and good company, but it's worth going in with realistic expectations to enjoy what it does best.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and chatty, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They serve well-kept beers and a great selection of hand-crafted local ales, which really hit the spot after a long day.
-
It's wonderfully dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry companion along for a pint in the public bar.
-
The waterside location gives it a charming, traditional feel, with a cosy atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing with mates.
-
There's plenty to do inside, like playing pool, darts, or catching the occasional live music – keeps things lively without being overwhelming.
Cons
-
The car park is a bit shabby and could use some sprucing up, which might not make the best first impression.
-
Food options seem hit or miss; it's not always available, so you might end up needing to grab something from nearby instead.
-
As an older-style pub, some areas feel a tad dated, which could put off those looking for something more modern.

Blonde lady behind the bar very friendly and chatty made you feel welcome. Sorry I didn't get your name
Only went in for a pint. The beer was well kept and the barmaid friendly. The var I used was a tad shabby but comfortable.
Stopped here on my canal walk today. They are lovely. Great pint, welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Staying locally we have visited this venue a few times with our children and 2 dogs.
A very friendly, welcoming fun place that has a fantastic atmosphere.
Due to refurbishing the kitchen, food was not available. However, the pub owners recommended, adjacent is a barge boats on the canal "Baltic Seafood" where we could purchase food and bring back to the pub to enjoy.
The TV was showing live sport and we al enjoyed playing a game of darts too.
"We haven't done food for six years". So don't believe the website! But landlord is very helpful, can order in from local takeaways and eat in the pub. He has the menus! Also a seafood boat on canal, recommended.
Charging point for phones for us boaters and a good pint.
