About This Pub
Ah, The Grace in Bristol – what a gem of a pub it is! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this warm, community feel that's been going strong since 2014, right on Gloucester Road. The food really steals the show; folks rave about the elegant cocktails and gourmet dishes like that exquisite duck or a perfectly done Sunday roast – it's all so tasty and well-presented that you'd want to come back for more. The service is another highlight; the team seems genuinely attentive and friendly, handling even big groups with ease, which is brilliant for a night out with friends. Plus, the outdoor space is ace for a bit of fresh air, and it's dog-friendly too, so you can bring the furry ones along. On the flip side, it does get heaving at times, especially in the beer garden on a lively Saturday, so if you're after somewhere peaceful, it might not hit the mark. And those opening hours can be a tad unpredictable or early, which might catch you out if you're planning a late evening. All in all, it's a solid choice for good times and great grub, but just keep those quirks in mind for the best experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – from elegant cocktails and gourmet sharing plates to a sensational Sunday roast, it's all top-notch and beautifully presented.
-
The ambiance is wonderful, with cool artwork on the walls and a lovely semi-covered garden area that's perfect for relaxing or enjoying a drink outside.
-
Service is outstanding; the staff are friendly, attentive, and really make you feel welcome, even on busy nights.
-
It's a great neighbourhood spot that's dog-friendly and has a lively, community-focused vibe that's been serving the area since 2014.
Cons
-
It can get pretty busy and noisy, especially on summer evenings in the beer garden, which might not suit those after a quiet pint.
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent or early in places, like typically closing around 4 PM on some days, which could limit options for late-night visits.

We visited Bristol to see some good friends and met at The Grace. It was the perfect place to catch up while sharing excellent food and drinks. The ambiance of this place is wonderful, the cocktails are elegant and superbly done, the sharing food plates were all very gourmet (the duck was exquisite, plus they also have great vegetarian options), and the service is outstanding. If you are visiting Bristol, don't leave without going to The Grace. It was my favorite restaurant/bar of our visit to England. I recommend it 100%.
Just had the most amazing meal last night. We were a work party table for 12 and the service was outstanding for a busy Christmas night. Full complements to the chef and kitchen team every single member of our party of 12 commented on how tasty the food was and how beautifully presented.
Menu may appear slightly unusual at first glance but always very tasty and great staff. Feb 5th 2022 just popped in for another lunch today and the food is still amazing, thanks to everyone in the kitchen for all their hard work. A lovely venue with a great outside space to boot and Dog friendly. Quality food in a relaxed nice pub atmosphere
Sensational. Busy busy busy with noisy drinkers but what did I expect for a Saturday summer nights beer garden. Great location but the highlight has to be the brilliant menu and service. Every dish we had was brilliant. Enjoyed our food so much I forgot to take decent photos.
Really delicious Sunday Roast!! The beef was spot on and the friendly service was great! Lovely venue with cool artwork on the walls. Nice little semi-covered garden area. Dog friendly. Will definitely be back for another roast
