About This Pub
Ah, The Cadbury – it's one of those neighbourhood gems in Bristol that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, it's brilliant for a laid-back Sunday roast; the food's spot on with generous flavours and options for all tastes, and the staff are just lovely, always up for a bit of banter and making sure you're sorted even if you turn up unannounced with a crowd. The atmosphere's spot on too – chilled out and casual, with a good range of beers to keep things flowing, and it's even dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus if you're popping in with your pooch. On the flip side, though, the ordering can be a bit of a faff sometimes, and you might find yourself waiting a touch longer for your grub than you'd like, plus portions aren't always as hearty as some might hope. All in all, it's a solid choice for a proper pub experience, but I'd say it's best for when you're in the mood for a relaxed vibe rather than something super quick – definitely worth a visit if you're in Montpelier and fancy a bite with friends.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, especially those Sunday roasts – they're hearty and full of flavour, with great options for both meat lovers and veggies.
-
The staff are an absolute delight; they're friendly, chatty, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, even if you're in a larger group without a booking.
-
It's got a lovely, relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for a casual catch-up with mates, and being dog-friendly adds a nice touch for those who bring their furry friends along.
-
They've a solid selection of beers on tap, so you can always find something refreshing to pair with your meal.
Cons
-
The ordering process can feel a tad complicated at times, which might throw you off if you're after something straightforward.
-
Food can sometimes take a bit longer to arrive than you'd hope, so it's worth factoring in if you're in a rush.
-
Portions might not quite hit the spot for everyone – some folks have mentioned they could do with a few more potatoes or veg on the plate.

Nice local pub with tasty food. The ordering process seems a bit complicated and food may arrive late. Staff is very nice.
Been drinking here for a while but came up for a Sunday dinner, even though we were a group of six and didnt book (sorry!) we got sat quickly, the service was amazing and the food was great! Thanks Clare for the amazing service and chat! x
Lovely little pub for a Sunday roast, perfect atmosphere nice and casual.
The food was absolutely lovely and the service was 10/10.
Definitely not a ‘fine dining experience’ but if you’re craving an old school Sunday pub lunch experience with great food and great service this is the spot.
Only caveat is if you’re looking for beef cooked medium rare/rare, in our experience it was pretty well done.
Great spot for a Sunday roast! Good selection of beers on tap, lovely staff and chilled atmosphere. We tried both the roast beef and lamb and would definitely come back next time we’re in Bristol.
Fab food and lovely staff! Great selection of meat and veggie roasts, although the boys in our group could've done with a few more potatoes / veg (perfect portion for me though). The Cadbury is also dog friendly, which was a nice surprise.
