About This Pub
Ah, The Garden Shed – it's one of those neighbourhood gems that just feels like a breath of fresh air after a long week. I've heard from folks who've popped in that the beer garden really steals the show, especially on a sunny day when you can kick back with a drink and enjoy the outdoors without the hustle and bustle. The food's another highlight; those pizzas and veggie options are surprisingly good, with portions that'll leave you satisfied without breaking the bank. And the staff? They're spot on, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs like clockwork. It's particularly lovely for a casual family lunch or a quick bite with the little ones before things quieten down. On the flip side, though, the burgers aren't quite up to snuff – they fall a bit flat next to the rest of the menu. Weekday visits might feel a touch subdued if you're craving a lively atmosphere, and the beer choices are more everyday than exceptional, so it might not wow the ale enthusiasts. All in all, it's a solid spot for a relaxed evening or a function, but go in with realistic expectations and you'll have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer garden is an absolute delight, perfect for soaking up the sun with a pint and some mates on a lazy afternoon.
-
Friendly staff who always make you feel welcome, with quick service that keeps things running smoothly.
-
Tasty food options like pizzas and vegetarian dishes that surprise with their generous portions and flavour – a real treat for a pub meal.
-
Great for families in the early evening, with a welcoming vibe for kids before it winds down, and plenty of space for groups or functions.
-
A cosy atmosphere with varied seating areas, both inside and out, making it easy to find a spot for a relaxed chat or even live music nights.
Cons
-
The burgers don't quite hit the mark, leaving a bit to be desired compared to the other dishes on offer.
-
It can feel a tad quiet during the week, which is nice for a peaceful pint but might not suit if you're after a buzzing crowd.
-
The beer selection isn't anything special, more of a standard pub lineup rather than a beer lover's paradise.
-
With kids needing to head off by 7pm, it limits the options for family outings that stretch into the evening, though the staff handle it kindly.

Good local pub. Pizza’s are way better than you think they would be, burgers leave a bit to be desired but great pub with an excellent beer garden. Hidden gem.
Love It here ! After an afternoon at the park mums and Kids love to come here for a pizza and a drink. The staff are very friendly and kids love the garden 🙂 thank you
(Kids are not allowed past 7pm, and the staff is very nice about it and always give us enough warning not feel rushed )
Nice pub with great food. Very generous portions and tasty vegetarian options. The service is always friendly and fast. I have only been during the week and it's a little quiet but that makes it nice and easy to find seats.
A smart and well decorated pub with a really nice variety of seating spaces. Outside and in. Has huts and a few screen. Not really beer heaven but nice place to enjoy a whole Sunday afternoon.
A lovely weekend lunch at the neighbourhood pub "The Garden Shed Pub". @thegardenshedpub . Some lovely cauliflower wings to start with. Followed by a yummy banger and mash with some fresh peas and a classic cheeseburger with fries. Accompanied by some refreshing spritz.
Quick service, yummy food and a buzzing energetic ambiance. My vote goes to them for a hearty meal.
