Fox Tavern, The, Titford Ln, Rowley Regis B65 0PT

About This Pub

Ah, The Fox Tavern – it's one of those places that just feels like a hidden gem for anyone craving a proper taste of Nepalese and Indian dishes without straying too far from home. From what I've gathered, the food is spot on; imagine tucking into fresh, spicy curries or those classic Momo's that bring a bit of Himalayan magic to your plate – it's all about that perfect blend of authentic flavours with a British twist. The team there are dead lovely too, always up for a chat and making sure you feel right at home, which really adds to the cosy, modern vibe. Plus, with reasonable prices and perks like their mobile app for easy ordering and a loyalty scheme, it's a smart choice for a casual night out or even sorting something for a special do. On the flip side, it can get a tad hectic during peak times, so you might end up waiting if you haven't booked, and there have been a few grumbles about portions not always matching up to expectations. All in all, it's a solid pick if you're after a balanced meal with good company, but just keep those little niggles in mind for the best experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious and packed with authentic Nepalese and Indian flavours – think fresh curries, tandoor grills, and unique dishes like Momo's that really hit the spot.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with mates at a local spot.
  • Prices are spot on for the quality, offering great value without breaking the bank, especially for families or groups.
  • It's a brilliant place for events like birthdays or parties, with a relaxed vibe and options for hiring the space.
Cons
  • Portion sizes can sometimes be inconsistent, like getting just one piece of something when you expect more, which might leave you a bit disappointed.
  • It gets pretty busy, especially on evenings, so you might struggle to snag a table without booking ahead.

Went for a meal on Friday night. Very busy, but managed to get a table (without a reservation). I always do a bit of research before travelling, and the mixed grill came highly recommended. I'm glad I did, as it was lovely. Ordered a butter chicken, burger and rice (kids meal) and large mixed grill (for two). £34. Excellent value.

Always used to order from here, food is great however this time I only received 1 piece of fish pokara from the boneless mixed grill when before they used to give a few pieces. Should just take it off the item list for boneless mixed grill rather than sending one piece out!
