About This Pub

Ah, Whiteheath Tavern – it's one of those unassuming spots in Oldbury that just hits the spot for a relaxed evening out. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this cosy vibe that makes you want to settle in with a mate and chat away, and the staff are absolute gems, always up for a laugh and making everyone feel welcome. The pints are spot on, especially the Guinness, and at such reasonable prices, it's a proper bargain compared to some of the pricier places around. It's even family-oriented, which is brilliant if you're travelling with little ones, as they've been known to let kids have a go on the pool table. On the flip side, the operating hours look a bit confusing with all those different listings, so you might end up planning around that or giving them a ring first. Plus, the website's playing up, which could make it tricky to check menus or events online. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone after a no-fuss pint and good company – I'd say it's worth popping in if you're in the area, as long as you go in with realistic expectations for a traditional pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, making it a great spot to unwind with a pint.
  • Staff and locals are super friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the charm.
  • They serve a cracking pint of Guinness and other beers at really affordable prices.
  • It's family-friendly, with options like letting kids play on the pool table, which is a nice touch for families passing through.
  • The music is spot on, and the overall vibe makes you feel right at home.
Cons
  • The operating hours seem a bit muddled, with conflicting times listed, so it's worth double-checking before heading out.
  • Their online presence is a tad lacking, as the website isn't loading properly, which might make it harder to get the latest info.
  • From what we've seen, it might not have a wide range of food options, as some folks haven't even tried it yet.

Great little pub, after travelling from Sheffield, we were stopping at holiday Inn down the road after taking kids around black country museum. The landlord was very welcoming and let kids in and play on the pool table, friendly locals, and a cracking pint, half the price i paid in the holiday inn.
