About This Pub

Ah, the New Inn – it's one of those neighbourhood spots that really tries to get it right, you know? They've put in the effort with a smart refurbishment, sprucing up the inside and sorting out the outdoor area, which makes it a cosy place to pop in for a chat or to watch the match on the new TVs. The staff are genuinely friendly, and I've heard the beer is just as it should be, nice and fresh. Plus, the prices won't set you back much, which is brilliant for a casual night out. On the flip side, it's a shame about the food; some days it's not even on the menu, or you're stuck with stale crisps, and that can put a dampener on things. There have been times when service has been a tad slow because the team are on their phones, even in a quiet pub. All in all, it's worth swinging by if you're local and fancy a pint, but maybe keep expectations in check for the grub and plan accordingly – it's got that classic pub charm with a few rough edges.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The pub's had a lovely refurbishment under new management, with fresh paint inside and a separated outdoor seating area that makes it feel more inviting.
  • Staff are warm and welcoming, creating a friendly atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed evening.
  • They serve a proper pint of beer that's spot on, which is always a winner for a good old pub session.
  • Prices are competitive, making it an affordable spot for a bite or a drink without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • Food options can be hit or miss; sometimes there's nothing but out-of-date crisps on offer, which is a bit disappointing.
  • Service might drag on if the staff are glued to their phones, leading to waits even when it's not busy.
  • Portions aren't always generous, and the grub might not live up to expectations, especially for a traditional pub meal.
  • Recent feedback suggests it's not consistently reliable, with some visits feeling lacklustre compared to its heyday.

Went over the xmas hols and they had no pub food, only out of date crisps (which they were advertising?!) Didnt seem to want to make the effort for customers and staff were on phones, causing waiting times in a pretty unbusy pub. Didnt stay long at all. Its a shame, it used to be a cracking pub

The pub is under new management as of June 2023. The outside of the pub has had a well needed refurb. Outside rear seating area has now been separated from the car park with a small rope link fence. Inside has been completely repainted. More TVs at being added. Warm, friendly and welcoming staff.

First time I've been in, I've driven past this place every day for the last couple of years and always intended to pop in, well tonight I popped in as it's now under new management. I've spent years looking for what I call a proper pub and at last I've found one. The beer is spot on and Cara who works behind the bar was very warm and welcoming, truly fantastic. Pop in and see for yourself I promise you won't be disappointed 👍👍👍👍👍

After being disappointed at our annual Christmas lunch last year (one small slice of meat per serving) we tried New Inn for the first time today and were very satisfied (I had previously popped in and sampled the food amd was well pleased). The prices were competitive and the portions were more than adequate. The only complaint was that the sprouts were over cooked but clean plates all round indicated a general thumbs up. Only three cask ales on offer but the two that we tried were in excellent condition. The current menu isn't very extensive but as the reputation grows and business follows suit, hopefully they will be able to hire a cook and provide more choice.

Went for Sunday lunch, after seeing signs new management, new ideas new food! £4.95 Sunday lunch.... All I can say is that you get a £4.95 Sunday dinner nothing special, sorry to say. Friendly owner and trying hard, but if I was him I'd invest in a good cook, buy more fresh food and increase the prices.
