About This Pub

Ah, The Fox and Pheasant – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart the moment you step inside. Tucked away in Chelsea, it feels like a quaint country escape from the hustle, with its cosy nooks, a lovely garden, and that homely atmosphere reminiscent of a grandma's house. The food? Oh, it's brilliant – think mouthwatering Sunday roasts and desserts like banana bread that are simply spectacular, making it a top pick for anyone craving proper British fare. The staff are usually dead chatty and make you feel welcome, which adds to the charm. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect; service can drag a bit when things get busy, and those seats might leave you shifting about after a while. Plus, with tables filling up quickly and the pub area being grab-it-if-you-can, it's worth planning ahead if you want to dine rather than just nip in for a pint. Overall, though, it's a solid spot for a memorable night out – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the highs definitely outweigh the little niggles.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, with standout dishes like the Sunday roast and banana bread that leave you wanting more – it's proper British grub done right.
  • The atmosphere is charming and cosy, feeling like a little country pub tucked away in Chelsea, complete with a cute garden that's perfect for a relaxed pint or catch-up.
  • Service is generally friendly and chatty, making you feel right at home, especially if you're popping in for a quick drink or a special occasion.
  • It's got a solid reputation with high ratings, so you can count on a good time, whether you're there for a meal or just to soak in the vibe.
  • They offer private dining options and vouchers, which is great for planning events or treating yourself without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit slow when it's busy, so if you're in a rush, it might not be the best choice for a quick stop.
  • The seats are on the hard side, which could do with a cushion or two for a more comfortable sit, especially on longer visits.
  • Tables can feel a tad crowded, and in the pub area, it's first-come-first-served, so you might have to get there early to snag a spot.
  • Booking is essential for dining, and if you fancy just drinks and snacks, options are limited without reserving ahead.

I’ve now been to this pub twice, and both visits have been nothing short of… destiny. The first time brought unexpected (and unforgettable) encounters. The second time? My birthday — but I didn’t book anything in advance, the whole day trip to London was completely improvised. And yet, somehow, I ended up right back here, with a glass of champagne in hand and life once again serving up excellent company and delightful chaos. The staff? Impeccable as ever. I still haven’t caught the same faces twice, and yet they all share that same effortless charm and competence. A special shoutout to Viktor at the bar, who personally made sure my phone got its much-needed charge — a true hero on a day when I was bombarded with birthday calls, messages, and general digital love. Viktor, you’re an icon. Management: give him a raise, or at the very least a golden charging cable. To sum it up: I come here, the universe responds. Great people, great energy, great staff. Obviously, I’ll be back. Who knows what fate has planned for round three?

Great place to get British food such as Sunday roast. Their dessert, especially the banana bread was amazing. The quality and flavor was spectacular. The service was a bit slow as it was busy. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant however, the table was a little bit crowded.

Sunday Roast x2! The venue is small, it looks like a real grandma’s house. It is still beautiful and well maintained, clean and functional. The garden is suuuper cute. The roast was amazing, portions were abundant, the meat well cooked. I got very good service and the whole experience was very positive. I would come back!

We loved our pregame dinner and pint! They had only the bar menu available and only if you could find a table. So if you want to eat come early enough! Otherwise pints were available and a general Chelsea joy was evident! Also looked a great restaurant to eat in usually.
